No they won’t don’t be silly - Thomas has zero form at any level and the other 2 haven’t played a game at this level - wow

The Harrison Burrows who played in the Sheffield United side who got to the play off final and finished 3rd and the Leif Davis who finished second behind us for Ipswich? Yeah neither have played in this league clearly lol

Jesus really- Luke Thomas couldn’t even get a game at Middlesbrough and didn’t get a squad sniff last time at this level he is utter rubbish - I’m not having that at all - selective memory

Why don’t you watch with your eyes? He was clearly a different player when he came back into the side this season. Why don’t you live in the present not what happened 2 years ago?

Then again you want Dyche based on something he did 10 years ago so I’m not surprised….

Ignore the second part I read his previous message wrongly - the point is still that Luke Thomas is not good enough

Luke Thomas was horrendous when he played back end of last year - you must be watching a different game - utter tosh

Thomas is more than good enough at this level. We also have Justin and Coulibaly. We simply cannot add to this squad until we get rid of at least 3 or 4 players.

No he isn’t - but I do agree with the last part - we need players out but we need a new starting left back and forward there is no doubt about that - the ones we have aren’t good enough

Clearly he wasn’t as most on this forum were impressed with how he had developed and come back stronger!

I’m comfortable with my opinion over someone who was taking every opportunity to call Rohl s*** in favour of wanting Dyche thank you though.

I didn’t call him anything of the sort - I simply didn’t get the massive love in - still don’t - plenty of dyche hate - I just don’t particularly agree with that either - still think he would be a solid manager for current situation but it’s a game of opinions right - one absolute fact though is we have seen enough of Luke Thomas to know he isn’t the answer to any question

Woudn't be surprised if we go Kenneth Paal if we did go for a left back

The link is inevitable given he's left QPR, so he's both the right price and a known quantity to Cifuentes.  But I can't see it.  Just not the age or profile we want or need.  I'd be more interested to see if we were to dip in for Esquerdinha, MC's last signing for QPR along with Harvey Vale.  But then that'd cost money, so again... nope.

One of JJ, Woyo or Aluko is good enough to compete with Thomas this year. Save the money and invest in a left back when we secure promotion back to the premier league.

That is a very big "when"!

For me our LBs are rank. This is a key position to address

Behind strikers and central midfield by a long way.

Last time out our left back options were Doyle and JJ.  We're no worse off now.  It's far from key.

It’s not fact about Thomas though, you say it’s a game of opinions and that is yours. The opinion of myself and many others is that he has had a shit development since first coming through and if we play with natural full backs, in the Championship and given the chance will likely do ok.

I’d agree he hasn’t shown consistency so far but if you look at the context around his career so far, you can’t say it is fact he hasn’t shown consistency nothing better to offer.

If he is given the chance this season and blows it, I will call it and accept I have seen enough.

I feel if he had a cracking season, got double figures G&A and got in the team of the season as we got promoted, you’d still come back with ‘well he’s still not good enough’ however.

Doyle , JJ and Thomas - don’t forget we won the league and one of them never played a single minute and he is our best option now 🤦‍♂️🤦‍♂️

On a slightly lighter note I think he will be fine as second choice behind a decent left back - if we play the Enzo way then I’m ok with him behind JJ  - if we are playing a basic 4 at the back and he is our starting left back we definitely have another problem

So JJ is worse now than he was 2 seasons ago?

No im saying that Thomas can’t be our starting left back and best option like some are saying  -  JJ is absolutely fine at this level

Another post displaying a lack of knowledge. LT is a left back. He looks much more solid is a flat back 4. If we play inverted like under Maresca that is less likely to suit him….

JJ is done….he’s had a few good games years ago. Been awful since injuries.

No thanks

This is a symptom of the situation we are in. We are linked to older players who are no longer good enough for PL teams, but can do a job in the Championship. We need to focus on younger players who can compete in the Championship now, but have the potential to be PL players next year.
