Blatant pull shirt on Newcastle's player, no yellow, ref just 20cm away of the incident.

What's going on with this sport? Are they having different rules in every game?

Barcelona should have had about 3 or 4 yellows for cynical fouls and got none, Joelinton gets one straight away early in the match

This is the flip side of the Premier League - I think the teams at the top are relatively weak, but Newcastle are a great advert for the strength of the league, sat 9th and they're clearly a good team.

It feels a more balanced league than it used to.

In fairness, on the flip side, Spain and Spanish football has been hit hard by the financial hardships of the last two decades.

Its Barca at Camp Nou, of course they're going to give this, not saying its not a foul but if that was Newcastle it wouldnt even be looked at

He's not getting that either way IMO. Raphinha goes down like a sack of shit knowing that.

Thought the same

Why has he done that lol? Could have been sent off, they probably score now, he wasn't going to get there anyway imo!

Hows that not a red if he thinks its a penalty?

Surely he's made no attempt for the ball and is supposedly denying a clear and obvious goalscoring opportunity?

That was my thought. Doesn't really make sense to give a penalty and a yellow

Especially given it's Barca! Potentially it's because he won't get to the ball (i.e. cynical foul but not goalscoring opp)?

Spain has very much punched above its weight in Europe for a long time.

Ahahaha. I don't even know what's going on with this sport right now. If they think this was a pen it MUST be a red by the rules.

But nooooo. In football we invent new rules on the fly. Because we're full of corruption alongside agents, betting companies and governments.
