Mad how almost all of the English teams who play in blue have imploded in recent years... back to red dominance of the early 2000's.

Ignoring a toothless Everton, who even have the same manager as back then. Certain teams floated back up like Fulham & Sunderland too who used to be established Prem, disappeared and are now back.

Wonder how Brighton will eventually implode.

Sometimes I think a red card for a denying a goal is a bit harsh. Ruins a game.

Maybe one for the sin bin lol or just give a 'penalty goal' like Rugby.

In these days where you can say with practical certainty that a goal would have been scored, I think there's no reason not to simply book the player and award the goal.

English teams having a shocker

We're just not as good as we like to think we are.

The PL is touted as the best league in the world and then you see top teams from Europe and you begin to realise it's all FA and media hype.

I think the record of number of CL finalists in the last decade might cast doubt on that tbh.

I think it's more that the very best European teams are at the moment at least on a par or better than the top PL ones, but the PL still has the biggest consistent strength in depth.

As you say, you can't  guarantee a goal would have been scored That's the issue and also the degree of certainty is very open to different (literal) views and interpretations. The shot might have hit the post or gone wide or over the bar. You can't book and red card a player based on what is an unforeseen outcome.

I admit, I don't watch much European league football but when I watch the CL we so often seem to be second best.

We might have the most English teams that qualify for the CL but then we come up against the top Euro teams and we seem to struggle.

These days, with tech being the way it is, you can quickly be certain in quite a few instances, I think.

But then I've long thought that rule to be rather flawed and open to manipulation (since Suarez at the World Cup) and so when it can be confirmed within the time of a video replay that the ball was heading in without the direct intervention of the offender, I really see no good reason not to be able to award the goal.
