Out of interest what is it that makes people think the ownership moved from KP to Top?  Companies House filings seems pretty vanilla and point to KP.  Unless of course the point is the Top controls KP which itself owns the club - but that would be a change in KP ownership generally not the club specifically.

I thought that there were filings re change of person with sig control from KP to Top ?

ill have another look

feb 2019 (wasn’t filed until 2024?????)

cessation of king power international as person of sig control

and notification of top as person of sig control

My view is that the original filing was a mistake which they corrected.  When the rules came in lots of companies messed up these filings.

I won’t bore you with the rules, but a foreign company cannot be a ‘registrable legal entity’ unless it’s listed on a stock exchange (which is the test for working out if a corporate entity is a PSC you have to mention). As KP isn’t a listed company, it’s private, it should never have been filed on the PSC register.

The club obviously realised that you need to look through the corporate structure and identify the ultimate controller - Top - and name him instead.  Top must control KP.   They probably spoke to a corporate lawyer or corporate secretary and realised their mistake…. Lots of companies did the same a year or two after the original error.

The latest confirmation statement is currently overdue, but that will clear it up when they finally file it.

Hi, Kieran here.

First of all a big thanks to BTG for the invite onto the show, have always liked Leicester going back to the days of Keith Weller and co back in the ‘70’s.

In answer to some of the ‘specialist’ questions.

1: I’m not familiar with Creme Eggs up my jacksy but I did win the Manchester University Creme Egg eating competition in 1981, knocking back half a dozen of them in just over a minute. Unfortunately I celebrated the victory by going to a gig (think it may have been The Undertones) and produced a Creme Egg omelette on the dance floor after pogoing too vigorously to one of their top tunes.

2: Bear all day long, they would drag the croc out of water where they’d have a strength and nimbleness advantage

3: I did have the snip back in 1995, it was very painful mainly because the surgeon was a Manchester United fan and the previous day United had lost 4-0 to Barcelona and he was not in the mood for someone taking the piss out of his team. To make matters worse the stitches became infected and I ended up with a huge cyst which looked as if I’d grown a third testicle for about 6 months. Putting on a box in the cricket nets became an even more important part of my cricket routine when batting than ever before.

All the best for the rest of the season. Anyone who has had Leo Ulloa in their squad is okay by me.

Thanks Kieran!

I'd be interested to hear peoples opinion on how it would have affected morale and harmony in the squad, to have Luke Thomas fall over leading to a goal that scrubs everybody's win bonus? Or Daka being the liability up front, never scoring? Or Fatawu having a chunky goal bonus leading him to sky twice as many crossing opportunities?

I see where you’re coming from but I think the clever way to go about it is to go the collective bonus route.Huge extra’s for higher league finishes and good cup runs etc.Even that can have it’s disadvantages, but at least you don’t get left with an over paid squad that you can’t move along if things go pear shaped.
Easy to be wise after the event. At the time, offering good basic pay contracts would have put the club in pole position when competing for players signature’s.

All good until it goes wrong.Brighton/ Bournemouth etc have the advantage of starting from a low base. While Leicester had the difficult task of navigating post title winning seasons.

I would imagine it’s quite hard to turn around.Try signing a player and telling them that btw your team mates are all on good basic pay regardless. You though are going to be on half their wages and hope that your team mates put a shift in.Total rebuild required I think.
