In conversation with John Hutchinson, Kasey Keller recently looked back at his career, which took him from growing up in the United States to playing for Leicester City, prior to starring in La Liga, the Bundesliga and the MSL.

Loved Kasey.

 

Remember him having a particularly amazing game against Newcastle once. Stopped everything.

I still have his (replica) jersey, though there's a reason I needed to replace it (with Kasper's)...  *Looks at stomach*  Hmmm...  I remember buying it with my own money after I managed to get my first office job after college   (199(7)-8?  (Checks - yep.  The interesting pattern and the still-shield-backed logo))

Great in his first season and contributed a lot to our coca cola cup success. Felt he fell off a little in the next two seasons and was prone to the odd mistake especially coming off his line, but was still solid. Flowers was an upgrade at the time.

One of my favourites, him and Peggy were the reasons I played in nets when I was younger.

Interesting that he had to fly straight off for a WCQ against Mexico after we won the League Cup at Hillsborough. And even more interesting what happened to him in the first minute of that game:
