There's an awful lot that needs to be done between now and the beginning of the League One campaign.  I'd thought it would be interesting to keep track of what's going on.

In my mind, today is day 1 of pre-season.  So far, nothing has happened.

How long before we get a statement from the club?  How long before there's a decision on the management? How long before announcing player departures or arrivals?

My fear is that we go quite far into pre-season before anything meaningful happens.

Today, if Rowett is leaving, it should be announced.  Pointless waiting any longer.

It’ll drag on as it normally does. Why would it change now? We take an age to do everything. If they don’t want Rowett, then it should be announced today or latest tomorrow.

Manager announced 4 weeks into pre-season so we haven't got a prayer of having fit enough players and will end up being Gary Rowatt.

First signing Transfer Deadline day with the coup of signing free agent and 100 cap international Jordan Ayew signed at 22:55.

Well if his contract was to the end of the season, his contract simply ends and he's no longer employed by the club. No need to announce anything.

Although the decent thing would be to put out something whenever his contract is officially up thanking him for his efforts as manager.

Last thing we need is protracted exits for players who think they’ll be too good for league 1 but still have time left on their deal. (Winks, Vestergaard, Faes etc)

We need to get them out the door asap, but Rudkin will dither on trying to haggle over pennies like usual and we’ll have the usual suspects haunting pre-season/early friendlies

Watford not messing about I see.

Rudkin still looking through holiday brochures, he probably can't decide where to go.

I would be pleasantly surprised if we get any update before July, such is my disdain for this 'leadership'.

They're probably all on holiday now as they are all just clock-in clock-out, regardless of performance, gravy train riders lead by captain do nothing Rudkin.

They are pathologically incapable of learning lessons from prior mistakes, so we'll be well into pre-season with no permanent manager and unfit players, many of which are still hoping to leave, as usual.

Rowett was appointed on 18th February when it was clear this was a survival only gig highly likely even allowing for a debrief etc that his contract will probably terminate at the end of this week at the latest. I would be shocked if it went to the end of May or June. I think it will be announced at spme point this week that Rowett, Davidson and Sadler have all left the club following the expiry of their short term deals.

You may as well tear the pages from your journal out till the season starts.

You wont need  to sharpen your pencil after you start.

Rudkins looking where to send the players as a thank you for their efforts this season.

My suggestion is a labour holiday too Lincolnshire farms crop picking.
