Lawrie Sanchez maybe, im sure he was interested in the pompey job aswell as still managing N.I, why not come here and give us some of that never say die wimbledon spirit. ?

We could always go with someone young who is passionate about the club like Matty Elliott or Steve Walsh. And before I get shot down because they have no managerial experience, just think of Chris Coleman and Stuart Pearce.

Pearce applied for the Leicester job.

It would've been a bit of a risk at the time. He didn't exactly cover himself in glory during his time as boss of the trees, though having Dave Bassett as his "assistant" there didn't help.

He would have been infinitely better than the eventual choice though.

So much for those who say nobody would want to come here!

I don't want Bobby Robson, I'd be too scared he would die at any minute during a game.

Maybe as a Director of Football though.

Exactly my thoughts. I know it's horrid to think like that, but he is very old.

Let's be realistic.

Sir Bobby is NOT going to come out of retirement and move 200 miles just to manage us.

The former Watford manager maybe? Can't remember his name. Lewington was it?

Ray Lewington. He nearly took them down last season!

If he was the only alternative (which he's not), we'd be better off sticking with what we have.

Just throwing names into the hat ;)

An assistant manager from a Prem side would be reasonable, or hopefully we could unearth another Stuart Pearce or Boothroyd, although we'd probably get another dud.

Eric Black (ex Cov) perhaps?

He did quite well there after Gary Mac left...
