Hitesh Posted 31 December 2005 Posted 31 December 2005 Right, i have backed Levein for a long time now but i dont think he has the ability to motivate the players. He might have the right idea of building a squad for the future but i cant see him doing anything to prevent relegation. Therefore, i think he does need to go. He has taken the club as far as they can go. We need a new manager and remember, if Levein goes, so does the coaching staff so we will need to start a complete fresh! So, anyone got any ideas? I heard that Mourinho guy is quite good!
martyn Posted 31 December 2005 Posted 31 December 2005 The sad thing is, any replacement manager is likely to be another stop gap, shit solution. Odds on Dave Bassett returning?
Hitesh Posted 31 December 2005 Author Posted 31 December 2005 The sad thing is, any replacement manager is likely to be another stop gap, shit solution. True! And also, there would be no money available for the new manager either! I reckon someone like Terry Venables or Ron Atkinson! That would be HELL!!!!! I wouldnt mind seeing Bobby Robson though!
TornadoShaunUK Posted 31 December 2005 Posted 31 December 2005 The sad thing is, any replacement manager is likely to be another stop gap, shit solution. Odds on Dave Bassett returning? I would welcome him back with open arms, if he saves us from relegation to the third tier he will probably go down a bit of a fans favourite
martyn Posted 31 December 2005 Posted 31 December 2005 Dave Penney or Mike Newell are the only 2, reasonably realistic options I can think of at the moment.
Cal Posted 31 December 2005 Posted 31 December 2005 I reckon it will be someone we've never heard of.
Cal Posted 31 December 2005 Posted 31 December 2005 Dave Penney or Mike Newell are the only 2, reasonably realistic options I can think of at the moment. Mike newell definitely wont come!
WhitleyBay_Fox Posted 31 December 2005 Posted 31 December 2005 I know he wasn't a popular choice when we were looking for a new manager after Micky Adams left but I have always wondered where we would be if John Gregory was in charge!
City Fan Posted 31 December 2005 Posted 31 December 2005 Does anyone know how MON's wife is? He could be tempted.....
l444ry Posted 31 December 2005 Posted 31 December 2005 I would welcome him back with open arms, if he saves us from relegation to the third tier he will probably go down a bit of a fans favourite He's not ideal, mainly because many City fans will never accept him however well he does. But we desperately need an EXPERIENCED man to come in. Forget your Newell, Penney, Allen etc. This is now desperate.
filbertway Posted 31 December 2005 Posted 31 December 2005 What we need is for the manager to get our players up for every game and fighting for the cause, and also teaches the players how to score
Hitesh Posted 31 December 2005 Author Posted 31 December 2005 Does anyone know how MON's wife is? He could be tempted..... i would love to see him back! But the question is, would he want to come back?
Guest seanfox778 Posted 31 December 2005 Posted 31 December 2005 i wouldn't mind george graham but defenatly no john gregory.
TornadoShaunUK Posted 31 December 2005 Posted 31 December 2005 I don't think anyone would be to keen on helping save a relegation bound club to be honest, I think Bassett is probably our only bet. I dunno how Doncaster are doing at the moment but if they dont look like coming up then I guess Penny is a possibility...
l444ry Posted 31 December 2005 Posted 31 December 2005 I spose MON is a possibility! Don't be so bloody stupid...
breadandcheese Posted 31 December 2005 Posted 31 December 2005 Dave Bassett is worse than genital herpes. In no way do I want him anywhere near our club again.
l444ry Posted 31 December 2005 Posted 31 December 2005 Dave Bassett is worse than genital herpes. In no way do I want him anywhere near our club again. See what I mean!!!!
Leicfox Posted 31 December 2005 Posted 31 December 2005 Im sure we will not get a manager IF Levein goes, thats is already employed by another club, so take youur pick from the unemployed ones, there aint many good uns.
Lineker's Left Foot Posted 31 December 2005 Posted 31 December 2005 Think I'm at the stage now where I want somebody who (i) can motivate the players and (ii) is a Leicester fan through and through.... give it to Ally Mauchlen, Steve Walsh or Gary McAllister. Hey watched Grand Masters Final yesterday on Sky and Leicester beat Chelsea 3-2 in the final. I'd sign those players up to help with the current plight. Up the City
l444ry Posted 31 December 2005 Posted 31 December 2005 Whats Guillet doing these daays ?? He's in the next Big Brother and also 10/1 for the Real Madrid job. He won't get either.
Hitesh Posted 31 December 2005 Author Posted 31 December 2005 He's in the next Big Brother and also 10/1 for the Real Madrid job. He won't get either. and i dont really want to see him at Leicester! I think Gary McAllister and Steve Walsh would be a good choice! Get Matt Elliot to come back and help with coaching while we are at it!
l444ry Posted 31 December 2005 Posted 31 December 2005 and i dont really want to see him at Leicester! I think Gary McAllister and Steve Walsh would be a good choice! Get Matt Elliot to come back and help with coaching while we are at it! I posted that as a possibility some time back and got shot down. Maybe time will have tempered the pro-Levein supporters ludicrous arguments.
breadandcheese Posted 31 December 2005 Posted 31 December 2005 See what I mean!!!! I think we won't accept him because he is useless. He may have one good season or two, but he is past it. He did nothing in his time here at Leicester or Southampton. He is promoted as some sort of relegation saving specialist but his record at this is not great. It is more Bassett's ability to self-publicise and promote himself that seems to convince people.
