Nationwider Posted 2 January 2006 Posted 2 January 2006 Brian Little Good call. In a Levein-less world, yeah, why not? I still reckon Craig's not going to be leaving us for some time, so its all irrelephant.
Hitesh Posted 2 January 2006 Author Posted 2 January 2006 Would be happy with Little. same! But i was thinking about this a bit more last night and i think Nationwide is right. I dont think Levien will go before the end of the season. If we are safe from relegation i stil think that he will be here for next season. If we get relegated then he will go. This is because he seems to have a long term plan which the bored likes and therefore while we are still in this division he is still our manager. The board must still have confidence in CL and they wont sack him because its more costly for them and for them to higher a new manager it would be even more costly. So looking from the boards perspective, they wont change things unless we are relegated, which will be too late i know! They must think that CL is the right man for the job. Personally, i dont think he is anymore. The games over the christmas period has made me go against him. He has failed to motivate the players IMO. However, whilst he might not be doing a good job, we have to stick by the players and support them! remember, if a new manager does come in then we are going to be stuck with the same players. So we need to get behind them and give them the support! This is a bit of a u-turn on my point but i dont think the situation will change so the best any city fan can do is keep supporting no matter how frustrating it can be!
stez Posted 2 January 2006 Posted 2 January 2006 Brian Little i'd love to see him back, it's almost as if i could've said it myself! as for judas, he never said he wasn't going unlike mcgee. little did no more or no less than martin o.

Hitesh Posted 2 January 2006 Author Posted 2 January 2006 Its sorted then lets give Davies a ring anyone got his number?
Head Honcho Posted 2 January 2006 Posted 2 January 2006 Brian Little Brian Little would definitely be in my top 3 to take over. If Redknapp can go back to Pompey anything is possible!
Jimmy Posted 2 January 2006 Posted 2 January 2006 Thracian, you imply that 'the fans' have completely shot Sheehan's confidence. All that happened was a few people, posting on a messageboard criticised his perfromance in one game. If he happened to read any messageboard and had his confidence affected by a few lines of text then I question whether he has the right mentality to be a succesful footballer. I agree though, he probably should be given an extended run in the first team. it wasnt a few fans it was almost everyone who posted. cant really remember little's last reign (i'm only 19) but have seen clips from that era and would love him back
Ricey Posted 2 January 2006 Posted 2 January 2006 I'd love to see Dave Penney here but I'm not sure he would come
noseeing100 Posted 2 January 2006 Posted 2 January 2006 John Gorman - think its a realistic target and would do a great job for us - attacking football for once. What do you think to Gorman?
Foxes 2 da grave Posted 2 January 2006 Posted 2 January 2006 Who is he? http://www.leaguemanagers.com/manager/prof...l?managerid=744 wycombe manager
Scow Posted 2 January 2006 Posted 2 January 2006 John Gorman - think its a realistic target and would do a great job for us - attacking football for once. What do you think to Gorman? He was Hoddle's sidekick for a long time at Swindon, England and Southampton. He's done absolutely nothing in management of note until this season with Wycombe.
noseeing100 Posted 2 January 2006 Posted 2 January 2006 He was Hoddle's sidekick for a long time at Swindon, England and Southampton. He's done absolutely nothing in management of note until this season with Wycombe. But what a season hes having!!! Nothing wrong with being hoddles number 2.
Ultra Posted 3 January 2006 Posted 3 January 2006 The Brighton manager That's not quite as dumb as it might first appear. McGhee did a fantastic job to keep Brighton in this league last season and shows every sign of repeating the feat this time around. Bearing in mind their local council restricts their ground capacity to just SEVEN thousand (ie less than a THIRD of our average gate), it can be seen just how well he's done with VERY limited resources. During his previous spell with us he built a successful, attack-minded side (albeit after taking us down from the Premiership) and also brought in trophy-winners like Garry Parker, Pontus Kaamark and, er, Jamie Lawrence. Many fans might find it hard to forgive him for the way he walked out on us. But if Portsmouth fans can forgive, why can't we?
