Louise Posted 18 October 2004 Posted 18 October 2004 Wilcox Could Be Sidelined For Season Jason Wilcox could be out for the rest of the season after he was stretchered off in Saturday's 1-1 draw with Coventry City at Highfield Road witha knee injury. Wilcox went down awkwardly following a challenge with Rohan Ricketts with just 14 minutes on the clock. The former Leeds winger will have a scan on the problem area today (Monday) - but initial fears suggest that it could be cruciate ligament damage. Caretaker manager Dave Bassett said: "Jason will have a scan on the area and until we have seen the results of that we won't know what the problem is. "But it certainly looks at this stage like the injury is to the cruciate ligaments and, if that is the case, I would say he could be out for the rest of the season." Former City midfielder Matt Jones battled back from a similar injury during his career with the Foxes, but was eventually forced to retire with a back problem. Danny Tiatto has now served his one-match ban and could fill the vacant spot left by Wilcox on Tuesday night when the Foxes take on Ipswich Town at the Walkers Stadium. http://www.lcfc.premiumtv.co.uk/page/NewsD...~577599,00.html Some might say 'good' but we do have a bit of a left side problem anyway...
Ric Flair Posted 18 October 2004 Posted 18 October 2004 Shocking really, it was always a gamble to sign Wilcox with the injuries he's had. Hasn't he already done his cruciates a couple of times as a player? Time to get Partridge from Liverpool.

Hopefully Tiatto will realise that he can't afford to keep getting silly bookings anymore (for the sake of the team).
Stuliasz Posted 18 October 2004 Posted 18 October 2004 Thats not good news at all, he was definitely showing signs of improvement in his game. Is it worth considering getting in a left winger on loan to cover? I suppose Harper could fill in but is he staying beyond this month?

Mark Posted 18 October 2004 Posted 18 October 2004 Danny Tiatto, Jordan Stewart, James Scowcroft, Trevor Benjamin Levi Porter, James Wesolowski. We're fine on the left side. The right side is more of a problem.
Ric Flair Posted 18 October 2004 Posted 18 October 2004 I think if it's time we gave Levi Porter a chance. He can play left or right wing and is our very own Shaun Wright-Phillips.
Ricey Posted 18 October 2004 Posted 18 October 2004 Although he has been awful this season we aren't exactly blessed with many NATURAL left sided players so it is bad news.
Scow Posted 18 October 2004 Posted 18 October 2004 As far as I'm concerned, he's only had one decent game and that was against Sheffield United at home. I wouldn't wish this on him though. What do we do in this situation if he's found to be injured for the rest of the season? He's on a 1 year contract - So, do we continue to pay his wages, or do we pay the rest of his contract off? Probably the former option, but you never know... For Ipswich, Tiatto left wing, Harper right wing please.

As for the options - I'd just pay him off and release him - maybe that way we won't have to pay the medical expenses! Yep, hopefully Tiatto will come straight into Wilcox's position and we'll have two good wingers for once.
Leicester_Mad Posted 18 October 2004 Posted 18 October 2004 i have been quite impressed with him over the past few weeks. He has tried to get the ball on the floor and pass it around but knowone moves therefore he has to hoof. Bit of a blow for us as Stewart will have to play more

Jordan will come good under new management i'm sure of it. Lets give him a chance he's never been the same since Micky arrived, and we cant say he's the only one who has played poorly under his management.
Guest Daniel Posted 19 October 2004 Posted 19 October 2004 Im sorry to hear about Jasons bad injury 27436[/snapback] Im not. First bit of good news this week.

By all means don't like him as a player but don't celebrate injuries.

He needs to grow up and think about what he is saying. BM - By all means say it isn't a tremendous loss on the footballing field - but don't say him getting injured is 'good news'. How would you feel if you broke your leg and we said it was good news?? :?:

Sort your english out chap. I cant stand the little money grabbing bastard, collects his wages from us and does #### all on the pitch, end of story. The sooner we get rid of him the better.

And I actually think Wilcox was one of the new players that tries hard, wasn't very good but tried his best.

Wilcox tries hard? I suppose were all allowed our own opinions but i dont think hes tried at all.

Anyway, I don't think we'll miss Wilcox too much, but I do feel sorry for him as I thought he did actually try hard but was a bit poo, this will probably be the end of his career which will be hard for him to take I imagine.
