fox123 Posted 13 February 2006 Author Posted 13 February 2006 for some strange reason, ive just had this feeling that Jim 'The bald eagle' Smith could be in as well to help rob kelly
Louise Posted 13 February 2006 Posted 13 February 2006 Hmm. Nothing on the RL news bulletin about the press conference.
Polyphonic Posted 13 February 2006 Posted 13 February 2006 Yeah its going to Rob Kelly I feel it in my bones !!
Onion Posted 13 February 2006 Posted 13 February 2006 If its MON I will drive my car onto the pitch of the walkers and give maryin a humerous bear-hug...LIVE ON SKY SPORTS. /Kelly in charge for the rest of the season.
Ric Flair Posted 13 February 2006 Posted 13 February 2006 Hmm. Nothing on the RL news bulletin about the press conference. OS is quick on the ball again............not. Why would SSN report on a press conference if there wasn't one?
Louise Posted 13 February 2006 Posted 13 February 2006 Here we go: Foxes to unveil KellyBy Peter ORourke - Created on 13 Feb 2006 Rob Kelly is set to be named the new manager of Leicester City. The Foxes have called a press conference for later on Monday when they are expected to unveil Kelly. Kelly has been in caretaker charge of The Foxes since Craig Levein was sacked at the end of January. The former Blackburn reserve team coach has guided Leicester to three successive victories to boost their survival hopes. The likes of Ian Holloway, Martin Allen and Mike Newell have all been linked with the job, but it appears the Leicester board have opted to give Kelly a chance. Kelly has been handed a short-term deal until the end of the season at The Walkers Stadium. http://home.skysports.com/list.asp?hlid=36...to+unveil+Kelly
Jon the Hat Posted 13 February 2006 Posted 13 February 2006 Good call by Tim and the Board. He'll have our full support until the end of the season, and if he still doing well then, a long term contract is definately on the cards.
Louise Posted 13 February 2006 Posted 13 February 2006 Now its on RL. Barber sounds gutted Surely Kelly can't continue as he is though with just Stowell and the academy staff to help him out..?
Head Honcho Posted 13 February 2006 Posted 13 February 2006 Gimme an F... F Gimme a U.....U Funny as
Ric Flair Posted 13 February 2006 Posted 13 February 2006 Now its on RL. Barber sounds gutted Surely Kelly can't continue as he is though with just Stowell and the academy staff to help him out..? I thought SSN were reporting that he was due to be announced as manager alonside an experienced assistant?
Strokes Posted 13 February 2006 Posted 13 February 2006 Not convinced it's going to be Kelly, he has clearly stated that he has no desire to be a manager, i reckon they have appointed sombody else, not sure who though.
Louise Posted 13 February 2006 Posted 13 February 2006 I thought SSN were reporting that he was due to be announced as manager alonside an experienced assistant? That Sky Sports article I posted doesn't make any mention of that and Barber on RL just now says that he's not expecting 'any new names'. Then again what does he know.
Janx Posted 13 February 2006 Posted 13 February 2006 Not convinced it's going to be Kelly, he has clearly stated that he has no desire to be a manager, i reckon they have appointed sombody else, not sure who though. HaS he stated that?? I thought that he had said he is happy NOT to be manager, thats different. Good luck to Rob, well done all he had to do was remotivate a decent squad, and he has done that, now what we DO need is a manager for the promotion push next season.
Vo Rogue Posted 13 February 2006 Posted 13 February 2006 Rob Kelly for sure. And how about Manager of the Month as well!
fox123 Posted 13 February 2006 Author Posted 13 February 2006 I thought SSN were reporting that he was due to be announced as manager alonside an experienced assistant? I still got the feeling it could be the bald eagle
lookwhaticando Posted 13 February 2006 Posted 13 February 2006 Not convinced it's going to be Kelly, he has clearly stated that he has no desire to be a manager, i reckon they have appointed sombody else, not sure who though. Last I heard (today's Gossip Column @ the beeb) Kelly was said to have 'distanced' himself from the managers job. According to the SSN article a few posts above, he's only currently on contract til the end of the season. So he's basically continuing in his caretaker capacity, but for a little while longer. I think it's fair to say that's slightly different to him being offered a 4 or 5 year contract - which is probably what Kelly himself means when not wanting to be 'manager'. He's stated before that he's happy to give the job his best shot while he has it - so I don't think he'd have had too many objections to being given until the end of the season.
FNQ Posted 13 February 2006 Posted 13 February 2006 My sources are telling me it's Kelly + Jim Smith on a short term contract.
Ric Flair Posted 13 February 2006 Posted 13 February 2006 My sources are telling me it's Kelly + Jim Smith on a short term contract. I'd be more than happy with that.
securedfox Posted 13 February 2006 Posted 13 February 2006 My sources are telling me it's Kelly + Jim Smith on a short term contract. I'd settle for that at this mo
