Bert Posted 18 February 2006 Posted 18 February 2006 The guy is an absolute legend, just tells it how it is. What a bloke. Link
Muz Posted 18 February 2006 Posted 18 February 2006 He talks a great game. Rob Kelly is an absoloute legend.
bigears Posted 18 February 2006 Posted 18 February 2006 Hes put the heart and passion back in the club
Bert Posted 18 February 2006 Author Posted 18 February 2006 Hes put the heart and passion back in the club Yep, as some fans were singing today - "we've got our Leicester back, we've got our Leicester back"
Jonbluefox9 Posted 18 February 2006 Posted 18 February 2006 He's a friend of my family!! Only met him once though and at the time I didn't realise he was a friend of the family. Super Robert Kelly
Shrew Posted 18 February 2006 Posted 18 February 2006 yeh seems the right man. ok its only early doors but seems to be gettin the team ticking. only concern is if he can cut it on transfer market. rufus brevett is past it and if we want 2 take from plymouth reserves it doesnt bode well. hopefully just wanted an experienced head in the dressing room through the tough stages which i hope we're out of now!

According to the man himself, we didn't actively pursue Brevett. Somebody (an agent presumably) came to Rob Kelly and said would he be interested in Brevett, and Kelly said he'd be interested in a month's loan to cover for Sheehan and Johansson (who was struggling with an injury). We didn't want him permanently - but the press twisted the story and blew it out of proportion. Anyway, Kelly has done wonders for the squad and morale so far. He'd go down as a legend if he keeps us up, after the predicament Levein left us in.
dynamite foxes Posted 19 February 2006 Posted 19 February 2006 I noticed he did a similar sort of celebration to Hume when we scored. Haven't seen that sort of passion in a while.
andyb92 Posted 19 February 2006 Posted 19 February 2006 I dont want to jinx anything or burst anyones bubble but from what iv seen so far of RK im seeing many comparisons in terms of commitment, enthusiasm, passion and spirit to a certain city manager legend who is no longer with us....mon.
Smudge Posted 19 February 2006 Posted 19 February 2006 Anyway, Kelly has done wonders for the squad and morale so far. He'd go down as a legend if he keeps us up, after the predicament Levein left us in. I guess you now feel that this cover is a good representation of the book?
Knighton Matt Posted 19 February 2006 Posted 19 February 2006 I think Kelly hit the nail on the head with his after match summary: "I prefer to talk about the positives. One of those was that today our players and supporters really bonded." And that my friends has been what has been missing for ever so long....
spirefox Posted 19 February 2006 Posted 19 February 2006 Yesterdays performance left me feeling totally proud, the transformation under RK has been nothing short of miraculous.Whoever identified him as CL's assistant deserves massive credit-he wasn't Leveins choice was he?
Tommy Posted 19 February 2006 Posted 19 February 2006 All these positive performances and results in the same vein, make you wonder whether CL actually listened to Rob when he was here. RK wasn't CL's choice to be his assistant, as the board told him to get an assistant with knowledge of the English transfer market. Just a thought.
simon1977 Posted 19 February 2006 Posted 19 February 2006 How does Kelly do it? The lads are playing with so much more energy, gusto and passion. Shame levein couldnt get that spirit out of them. Cant wait to see who (if any) rob will bring in the summer.

Cant wait to see who (if any) rob will bring in the summer. This is marvellous. I am recording everything that is being said and, more importantly, who is saying it. If the call goes up in the sumer for a 'more experiencd manager' I will remind the 'fickle boneheads' of the 'top bloke' in situ. Can't wait for the screaming hissy fits...
The People's Hero Posted 19 February 2006 Posted 19 February 2006 I haven't seen us under RK, but under CL we were garbage and the results alone are testament to the fact that we're a more effective unit now than we were under CL. Whether RK is the long term solution, I don't know - it remains to be seen, but in the short term, he's doing a fantastic job.
Stevosevic Posted 19 February 2006 Posted 19 February 2006 the football we are now playing from reports is awesome, i have only seen them under kelly against Derby and it was the best football i have seen for years.
Foxes_Trust Posted 19 February 2006 Posted 19 February 2006 So anybody coming tomorrow night to meet & question the man himself? http://www.foxestrust.com/html/modules.php...article&sid=576 Remember you can join on the night if you aren't a member
spirefox Posted 19 February 2006 Posted 19 February 2006 I can't get down tomorrow but can somebody try to find out who was responsible for getting RK in as Leveins Assistant.Levein didn't know him so he must have been put forward by someone else - but who ?

Haven't you got anything better to do?

Above all else I think he's a motivator and realises players strengths and weaknesses and how to give them belief. That for me is just what this club needs and I can't see why we need to change things at the end of the season unless either he doesn't want the job permanently, the big test will be when we hit a tough patch.
