Craig Posted 2 March 2006 Posted 2 March 2006 Sure, have a party at the walkers, just make sure you don't hammer a nail into our coffin.
Katy Posted 3 March 2006 Posted 3 March 2006 Exactly Craig!! Best of luck with it and all that but if we are still deep in the shite when we play you, please dont rub our noses in it, every game for us now is important just as every game for you is.

Good on you guys, Leroy Lita is going straight into my fantasy team next season as my defferential striker. Goodbye Marlon Harewood.
Guest Posted 3 March 2006 Posted 3 March 2006 Promotion party? Sod that, it's my birthday party, and I'm expecting a City victory at the very least!! You can get promoted on your own territory!!
Bert Posted 3 March 2006 Posted 3 March 2006 Good on you guys, Leroy Lita is going straight into my fantasy team next season as my defferential striker. Goodbye Marlon Harewood. Thanks for telling everyone that! I hope there won't be no promotion party at the walkers unless it's ours!! Good luck and everything with your promtion push, but as many people have said we need the points as much as you.
Royal Male Posted 3 March 2006 Author Posted 3 March 2006 It looks like as predicted our allocation for this game is going to be sold out even before your tickets go on sale on the 10th. Therefore I imagine you are going to get a load of Reading fans looking to buy home tickets, me for one if I can't get in the away end. How easy will this be? I know Saints put a ban on anyone without a Southampton Post Code buying tickets for the first time when we sold out our allocation this season to prevent away fans getting in the home ends. Would you expect your club to do the same. (and if so is anyone on hear perpared to get a couple of tickets for a friendly (Peter Taylor hating) and well behaved Reading Fan whose had a season ticket for 15 years but still can't get a ticket?)

There would be plenty of people that would do that for you. Having witnessed promotion to the premiership 3 times in less than a decade, you certainly deserve your chance after having to wait 134 years for it. You've also been a credit to this league this season and showed the quality and resolve to prevent you from being like all the other teams in this league who have no consistency and play grotesque football. I hope you get promotion on our ground, aslong as we either win or draw the game but you still go up anyway as it might give our players something to think about for next season.

Thank you for your kind words, I could well be back looking for some kind soul to help me out with a couple of tickets next week. Good luck at against Hull, hope you can put one over Taylor.
chunx Posted 3 March 2006 Posted 3 March 2006 I'm off to Hong Kong that day so won't be there. Having said that, despite having a ST for last 3 years, don't have one this year I'm afraid! Your not my hero anymore
chunx Posted 3 March 2006 Posted 3 March 2006 I'm putting my neck on the line here... I think I'de rather Shef U go up than reading, the've stuck through it with there manager when fans wanted out and have been close at the top for a couple of seasons now. Reading are a good side but they have never been close to the top and there fans have never been anywhere near quality i can understand that they're singing now, any side would in there situation. ( well leeds aren't ) And i just dont like leeds so im saying watford for p/offs I would like Shef U to win the league Reading in second And Watford winning the p/offs

Reading watford automatic and palace can go through the playoff!

In 94/95 we suffered the unique fate of finnishing 2nd and not getting promoted as the prem was cutting numbers and then we led the play off final until the last ten mins against Bolton (having missed a pen when 2-0 up), so I'd say that was pretty close. In 2004/5 we missed out on the p/o on the last day In 2003/4 we were in the hunt most of the season for a p/o place but lost out by 3 points In 2002/3 we finished 4th and lost in the p/o semi So I'd say we have been there our there about for the last four years add to the heartbreak of 94/95 I can't really see how anyone really say we haven't been close. Anyway, thankfully the past dosn't matter and it's points now that do and we just need fourteen more (if Leeds c0ck up up even fewer) As for your arguement about fans, well we hear it all the time but I can assure you I'm as passionate about my club as you are about yours. Good luck tommorrow and (hopefuly) I'll see you on the 25th

Good luck tommorrow and (hopefuly) I'll see you on the 25th I remember when you lost the (1995) playoff final (sucks doesnt it ) and McLiar was manager and Scottie Taylor was playing for you - back in the day when play off finals were on TV! I guess you could get tickets in our end but stick to the West Stand - no one ever sits there so you are more likely to get a seat

Royal Male Posted 3 March 2006 Author Posted 3 March 2006 He was manager of us then, there manager was jimmy summit or other........ Jimmy Quinn & Mick Gooding were in charge after the Overweight Scottish person of dudious parentage walked out on us. Remind me where is he now? Some athletics club isn't it?

I guess you could get tickets in our end but stick to the West Stand - no one ever sits there so you are more likely to get a seat I'd suggest getting seats in the North Stand close to the away fans because it won't be much of a party if you're stuck on the otherside of the ground, to where the players are celebrating, in an almost empty stand. If you watch the game from the North Stand, you can walk towards the segregation at the end of the match and sample the atmosphere with your fellow Reading supporters. If you get a few Reading fans in the North Stand then at the end of the match it will be just like another section of the away end but with a bit of segregation between the main group and the small group.
