Benji Posted 30 March 2006 Posted 30 March 2006 it's good for keeping in touch with mates, especially for someone like me just getting ready to go to uni, i can track people who went to my college etc but i'm with you on the attention front, the guys on there make me laugh, some of the poses are a picture, the mirror pictures make me laugh the most, who the hell holds a camera at the mirror with themselves in it? it's like a bad film scene gone wrong. Then again, if some people get the kick from it them let them go nuts.

I don't take them serious They will just be in my picture gallery. dont got me wrong i see people genuinely use this site to keep in touch with old mates and meet nice new people but my prime example comes from chris moyles (www.myspace.com/thechrismoylesshow) after all, this is where i heard of it. at 1st he claimed it was such a geeky thing to do and he'd never do that. then he signed up and he's hooked, i think he's on there more than he's on radio and look at his list of friends, 95% are women with the "come to bed eyes" look or "writhing slowly on bed" poses it makes me laugh. havent seen any male profiles like this, but basically it is just an updated version of faceparty for the older generation imo.

Anyway it was a long time ago since I attended my last school apart from night school, so most of the people I went to school with will have other interests than Myspace. There have been one or two that seem OK. I've joined a couple of poker groups and there are some good writer/poets who have been interesting. If you choose the ones that interest you Myspace is not a bad thing. I put rock music as an interest and I must have had at least twenty in my first monthg wanting my support. There are some that I didn't care for much. One was a rap band. But most are OK and deserve some sort of publicity. I think you have to be careful what you put in your profile though. I may have to alter mine a little so i don't get spammers or the type of women mentioned in previous posts. All I joined for is to share interests with people. I'm not looking to sponsoring, buying, selling anything or looking for a soul mate (well not intentionly) Like I said i don't take a lot of it seriously. After a time there will only be the odd few I will reply or message. Spiderman is a member. Spiderman pub crawl.
