Jay Posted 7 May 2006 Posted 7 May 2006 Spurs game in doubt after illness Spurs' crucial game at West Ham is in doubt after several of their players went down with food poisoning. Martin Jol's side will clinch the fourth Champions League place if they win at Upton Park, although Arsenal are also still in contention. Premier League spokesman Dan Johnson said officials are on their way to the Spurs team hotel, but that the game was still currently scheduled to go ahead. There is expected to be a further update on the situation at 1300 BST. Spurs would seal fourth place with a win, but they will still face an anxious wait to see if they can compete in the Champions League next season. Even if they finish fourth, Spurs will be replaced by in the competition by Arsenal if they beat Barcelona in the Champions League final on 17 May. Arsenal's final match Highbury, against Wigan, will go ahead - despite the two north London sides going head-to-head for a Champions League place. http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/football/4982144.stm Arsenal for 4th place then!!!
SystonFox Posted 7 May 2006 Posted 7 May 2006 i want Arsenal to get 4th spot anyway but what could happen is they can call both games off so nothing will be decided today. although id rather both games are played today so i can take the piss out of the spurs fan at work some more. 3-2 5th place! 3-2 5th place!
loz Posted 7 May 2006 Posted 7 May 2006 The Club can confirm that today's match against West Ham at Upton Park will be played as scheduled at 3pm. http://www.tottenhamhotspur.com/news/articles/newsflash.html
SystonFox Posted 7 May 2006 Posted 7 May 2006 haha wonder who the 7 players are and how badly the team will be affected. come on west ham! come on the arse!
john_lcfc Posted 7 May 2006 Posted 7 May 2006 come on spurs. arsenal are all foreign boring (always in the media) and there fans arent as worthy of success as tottenhams
loz Posted 7 May 2006 Posted 7 May 2006 on a different forum it said the 7 players are: Robinson Dawson Kelly Murphy Davenport Barnard Lennon and another 4 were doubts anyway: Robbie Keane, Mido, Paul Stalteri and Michael Carrick not sure if its true but this is what a spurs fan has said
The People's Hero Posted 7 May 2006 Posted 7 May 2006 come on spurs. arsenal are all foreign boring (always in the media) and there fans arent as worthy of success as tottenhams Almost every Spurs fan I know is a graceless tosspot.
Jay Posted 7 May 2006 Author Posted 7 May 2006 Almost every Spurs fan I know is a graceless tosspot. wasn't/isn't the Dazmeister a secret Spurs supporter?
Jay Posted 7 May 2006 Author Posted 7 May 2006 He saw the light and swapped allegiance! a wise choice!!! Mr Jol our Chef has prepared some VERY special food for you today!!!
NFFC Chris Posted 7 May 2006 Posted 7 May 2006 Well I hope Spurs win but even if they get 4th place they won't be in the champions league next season because the script is written for Arsenal to win the champions league is Paris.
lookwhaticando Posted 7 May 2006 Posted 7 May 2006 There's an incredibly humourous post on the 606 forums. Friggin conspiracy theorists are having a field day. POISONED!!!!! This is the first post, and the replies from all quarters are incredible. I wouldn't be surprised if the Tottenham team was deliberately poisoned before its game today. There was lots at stage for Arsenal - 4th spot, a budgeted Champions League spot for next season - literally millions of pounds. Perhaps it was a derranged fan, or a bookie on the wrong side of a bet - or could it have been that someone was paid to make the team sick? The kitchen staff at their hotel should be investigated one by one. The Police should be called in immediately!
Stuliasz Posted 8 May 2006 Posted 8 May 2006 There is a probe into it now http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/england/london/4983338.stm
The People's Hero Posted 8 May 2006 Posted 8 May 2006 I might have known that Spurs fans would be up in arms about this. Always moaning about something. Birmingham had about 14 players injured all season. I thought Bruce handled that with a fair amount of dignity. Spurs have a few players off colour for a game and the whole world is apparently against them! At least Jol handled it with some tact.

You have to ask yourself wtf they were doing spending the night in the hotel anyway! West Ham is an hour tops from Tottenham.
Nationwider Posted 8 May 2006 Posted 8 May 2006 Today's headline in The Sun: TOTTENHAM TROTSPUR We are not worthy.
Head Honcho Posted 8 May 2006 Posted 8 May 2006 Today's headline in The Sun: TOTTENHAM TROTSPUR We are not worthy. Better then SHITE FART LANE I suppose
Milky Posted 8 May 2006 Posted 8 May 2006 what are they doing eating a hotel lasagne, that's asking for trouble. someone's blatantly done them over.
Nationwider Posted 8 May 2006 Posted 8 May 2006 Better then SHITE FART LANE I suppose I did actually L.O.L at that!
Knightonian Posted 9 May 2006 Posted 9 May 2006 Does anyone else think that Spurs are being a little over the top requesting that the game be replayed? Maybe we should send a cheeky letter to FIFA requesting that the World Cup be delayed a month to insure that Rooney is definately fit .
davieG Posted 9 May 2006 Posted 9 May 2006 I just think it wasn't food poisoning at all, they were literal shit scared at the possibility of winning and ending up in the Champions League. Inter toto cup and they wouldn't have produce a fart.
Head Honcho Posted 9 May 2006 Posted 9 May 2006 get over yourselves spurs! you lost accept it You have to admit though, it's a cracking letter and a negative response from the FAPL will no doubt result in a 4 word reply: See You In Court!
