Thought he would of stood a chance of making it considering Vidmars withdrawal. Thoughts?
Ric Flair Posted 10 May 2006 Posted 10 May 2006 Upset a little as it's always nice to have a player at the World Cup who plays for the club you support but it would only of added to the interest in him had he gone and had a decent tournament. Having said that his value could have risen far more than it ever would have just from playing in the Championship and therefore we could be missing out on a great opportunity to get a few quid. I hope Hiddink kisses his own nob now.
Robsdee Posted 10 May 2006 Posted 10 May 2006 He must be disappointed, however from a selfish point of view, at least he won't get injured
Vo Rogue Posted 10 May 2006 Posted 10 May 2006 And good on the man for saying no when asked to play a selection friendly in a second rate Oz team, and staying to help us when we were deep in relegation trouble. It probably did his chance no good.
A fox for life Posted 10 May 2006 Posted 10 May 2006 Stan Lazaridis (uncontracted), does tht mean he's not with a club? if so why can't we have him didn't he used to be good?

A fox for life Posted 10 May 2006 Posted 10 May 2006 Used, being the key word in your sentence mate. hes going to the world cup without being at a club surly that says somthing
Jon the Hat Posted 10 May 2006 Posted 10 May 2006 hes going to the world cup without being at a club surly that says somthing It says Birmingham just released him and he's focussed on the World Cup before looking for a new club.
Anish Posted 10 May 2006 Posted 10 May 2006 Not surprised Kisnorbo's been overlooked. It's been a while since his last cap right? And Huddink isn't going to a Sven and pick players from out of the blue.

Head Honcho Posted 10 May 2006 Posted 10 May 2006 I wasn't surprised when I first heard about him missing out but now looking at who's been picked I reckon he's been robbed.
hairy Posted 10 May 2006 Posted 10 May 2006 Isnt that the provisional squad and 'the' squad is being named on Monday?
syston_fox Posted 10 May 2006 Posted 10 May 2006 Isnt that the provisional squad and 'the' squad is being named on Monday? Yeah I was gonna say i didnt think the squad was released until Monday!
Southern Fox Home Posted 10 May 2006 Posted 10 May 2006 I reckon he could still make it. I know that the squad has been named but he must be on standby - surely?? Do other countries have a stand by list like England?? If so why cant they be viewed. It will be a massive shame if he doenst get to go. He wore his shirt for us with pride at the end of the season adn would deserve the limelight and the experience

If they wanted to know if he was good enough they should watch his videos for the last few months. It's Australia's loss. They'll get over it. And if they've got a problem they should remember who pays his wages week in and week out... and not with the intention of us having to fight relegation battles. If we hadn't been in the proverbial perhaps it would have been reasonable for players to be released. The players who have international aspirations should remember that too and start playing properly when the season starts not when it's halfway over.
