MC Prussian Posted 28 May 2006 Posted 28 May 2006 According to the online edition of the Swiss daily "Tages-Anzeiger", Andy Johnson will join Everton FC for a fee of 11 Million Euro (approx 7.5 Million Pounds). News @ Tages-Anzeiger.ch (in German only) That newspaper is usually very reliable and doesn't print news before they're actually happening, unlike others.
lookwhaticando Posted 28 May 2006 Posted 28 May 2006 The current price is £8.5m which Everton, Bolton and Wigan have all had accepted. It's rumoured he favours Everton - but so far he's not spoken to them (just Wigan so far judging by the current reports). If the rumours are true (about his preference), it will be Everton - since they've finally come up with the cash.
MC Prussian Posted 28 May 2006 Author Posted 28 May 2006 I think it'd be the right choice for him. However - and I've read that on bbc.co.uk before - some fans already complain about the hefty price tag, saying that they could've bought two (or even three) good strikers for the same amount of money. Now Johnson has to prove himself that he's worth it.

Knighton Matt Posted 28 May 2006 Posted 28 May 2006 They must be hoping for the 'Dean Ashton' effect. Fools.

Daggers Posted 29 May 2006 Posted 29 May 2006 wouldn't pay more than 4 million for him I like the concept that you have that money to burn... Me ? I struggle to find the money to cover the kids ballet and footy fees every week...
Hazza Posted 29 May 2006 Posted 29 May 2006 I like him, don't reckon he's worth that much mind, but i think he's a good little player.
Hitesh Posted 29 May 2006 Posted 29 May 2006 Done Deal. No way is he worth that much, but Palace have got a good deal!
Cobbo Posted 29 May 2006 Posted 29 May 2006 My mate whom's an Everton fan reckons he's a great signing, not worth this much but as he said, supply and demand. Ala Ashton. Him and Beattie could form a good partnership to be honest.
Bert Posted 30 May 2006 Posted 30 May 2006 My old P.E teacher is an Everton fan, i was talking to him the other day and he thinks that it's a waste of money, and there's better out there for less money, personally i think Johnson and Beattie will compliment each other, and make a good partnership.
