A fox for life Posted 27 April 2006 Posted 27 April 2006 :: thats so sad seeing that. god i crave for another Izzet!!!
Newcastle_Fox Posted 1 June 2006 Posted 1 June 2006 Wharra Legend! Muzzy will never be forgotten in my eyes.
Shipman Out Posted 1 June 2006 Posted 1 June 2006 I met Muzzy in town a few times. He is a top top bloke aswell. On one occasion when he hadn't been with us long after his loan spell i got him in a headlock in a nightclub and said "i bet you leave us when you get chance" We had not long beaten Palace in the Play off final. It was all in good humour, he said how much he was enjoying it and it turned out he stayed another 7 class years. One more thing when he came off the bench in the infamous Sheff Utd game. I was like who the hell is this hobbit! look at his legs there gonna snap! and so did the rest of the kop corner. Little did we know this man would grow to be a legend and has never looked as small as he did that day running onto the pitch. He was made at Watford away the same season. Top man Muzzy Izzet. Wish him all the best with his injury and thank him from all the Leicester fans i know he is a City Legend forever.
davieG Posted 27 June 2006 Author Posted 27 June 2006 From Skysports http://home.skysports.com/list.asp?hlid=39...+time+on+career Muzzy Izzet has been forced to retire after failing to overcome a long-standing knee injury. The midfielder missed the majority of Birmingham's relegation season last term due to the problem and it has shown little improvement of late. Blues chief Steve Bruce said on Monday that Izzet was in real pain when putting any stress on the joint and the 31-year-old has taken the decision to call time on his career. "Muzzy has come to the point where his knee is very, very painful and he can't fulfil what he wants to do," Bruce told the club's official website. "We would like to thank Muzzy for his efforts during his two years here and wish him all the very best for whatever he chooses to do in the future." Izzet, a former Turkey international, had a further year to run on his contract at St Andrews, but he agreed to cancel the deal by mutual consent. The midfielder started his career at Chelsea, but made his name at Leicester during an eight-year stint with The Foxes. He joined Blues in the summer of 2004, but was never really able to show his class at St Andrews.
Ricey Posted 27 June 2006 Posted 27 June 2006 Does anyone know how to send Muzzy a card or something? I could send him one of my Magic Muzzy t-shirts with a load of messages from us lot. Just an idea.

davieG Posted 27 June 2006 Author Posted 27 June 2006 The first words I ever sound about Muzzy, I remeber it as clear as yesterday Muzzy Fricken Who??? Boy did he show me and many others that he was Mustapha Izzet, affectionately known as Muzzy a name that will go down in the annals of LCFC history. Have a happy retirement, if you got a few £Â£Ã‚£Ã‚£s you don't need drop me a line
Bert Posted 27 June 2006 Posted 27 June 2006 How sad, such a shame that such an honest, true player's career has had to be cut short, all the best for the future Muzzy! My all time favourite player, thanks for the memories Muz!
Ultra Posted 27 June 2006 Posted 27 June 2006 I've just posted a lengthy tribute to Muzzy on the Len Glover Forum . He was pure quality. We live in hope of seeing his like again in a City shirt.

Fez of Mahrez Posted 28 June 2006 Posted 28 June 2006 As you can probably decipher from my username, Mustafa Kemal Izzet was a bit of a hero to me. Actually, that's wrong, he still is a hero to me. The guy gave everything for us. I remember seeing his name come up on Teletext's transfer deadline day ticker along with Julian Watts. Along with everyone else I thought to myself who the hell is M Izzet? Only brought in on loan initially of course. I remember his debut, coming on as sub and playing tight to the near touchline in the infamous Sheffield United defeat at Filbo. I remember standing on the back row of the Carling Stand singing "O'Neill out, Mustafa in". I remember his jinking runs that day down the touchline, the only player on the pitch worthy of the shirt and he was just some kid I'd never heard of before. And I remember his header at Vicarage Road that got us into the play-offs and relegated Watford on the last day of the season. I remember him winning the penalty that put us back level at Wembley just days later. I remember thanking all the lucky stars in the world when we signed him for £650,000 that summer. I remember all the goals, all the curling efforts from the edge of the box, the bullet free-kick at Middlesbrough, the volley against Tottenham with the Mercury banners pleading for O'Neill to stay. I remember the way you trusted him, Lennon and Savage to give any midfield in the country a run for their money. I remember all the free kicks and corners we took for granted last time we got promoted - what we would give for a player who could deliver a tenth of those balls this season. I remember everything Muzz. All the best for the future in whatever you do.

I was eating some Space Raiders crisps out the time, bit of useless information for you there. Great post by the way Fez, sums it up brilliantly.
Fez of Mahrez Posted 28 June 2006 Posted 28 June 2006 That is exactly what happened to me! I was eating some Space Raiders crisps out the time, bit of useless information for you there. Unfortunately I am unable to verify exactly what brand or flavour of crisps I was devouring at the time but I was no doubt lounging around having just got back from school eating my poor old mother out of house and home. I will miss Teletext when they switch off the analogue signal.

Same with me, I have no idea how I remember what crisps I was eating I don't really use teletext anymore but before I got the internet it was like the bible to me, I miss the way they called every player a 'STAR' in headlines as it's shorter than player
