Guest seanfox778 Posted 25 June 2006 Posted 25 June 2006 anyone else really dissapointed in his performances i expected him to be one of the stars of the tornament he was our best player at euro 2004 maybe he is a bit tired after playing 10,000 games for chelsea last season but then again gerrard played more.

He has been disapointing but he'll come good when we need him most.
Nationwider Posted 25 June 2006 Posted 25 June 2006 He's a terrific player. I think he's been a tad unlucky in front of goal, and some of the formations he's been asked to play in are a bit alien to him. I'd be tempted to leave him out to balance the team up a bit. Having said that, he's 1. undroppable and 2. likely to come good at some point. If he's stays in, fair enough. His consistency for Chelsea probably warrants it.
Benji Posted 25 June 2006 Posted 25 June 2006 I think too many people have judged Lampard simply by his lack of goals At least the lad lifts up his chin and persists... they will go in soon, everyone knows he has the ability When he missed that pull back from Rooney i just thought, two weeks ago for chelsea that would be a goal. The promising thing is he is getting in the right places... i have faith in him he just needs a bit of luck to get some confidence

Time to replace him with Carrick and revert to a traditional 442 methinks with Stevie G foraging on his own... Swap Beckham for Lennon and use Crouch up front with Rooney. Keep Hargreaves at right back.
loza15 Posted 26 June 2006 Posted 26 June 2006 For the next match if Neville is fit then he would play at RB. I would play Hargreaves in the centre holding for Gerrard. Drop Becks and bring in Lennon. Crouch and Rooney up front. Give Wallcott a run if we are winning. Remember what Sven did to Rio when he was playing crap, dropped him, and then his performances picked up. Thats what they should do with Lampard.
Strokes Posted 26 June 2006 Posted 26 June 2006 Was i the only one that thought Lampard was playing better yesterday bar a few overhit passes and poor in front of goal. He got himself in some terrific positions and should he have been able to play earlier in the tornament with such free reign perhaps he would have been on the score sheet.

Maybes Posted 26 June 2006 Posted 26 June 2006 I thought lampard played awful yesterday. Lacked composure on the ball and in front of goal. Not up to scratch. Hargreves in the holding role, gerrard supporting crouch and rooney is my suggestion.
Manwell Pablo Posted 26 June 2006 Posted 26 June 2006 There is no way Beckham will be dropped, especially after scoring the winner yesterday. I see no reason to drop becks at all! of the 6 goals we have scored in this tournament he has set up three and scored one, he looks good going fowards and is doing his bit at the back. He's debatable our player of the tournament so far . Lennon has no end product, he goes darting down the wing, skins a player and falls over/wins a corner. Putting him in the team is not going to transform or dyer form.

There is possibly a case for moving becks into the centre and playing Lennon on the wing but personaly i prefer bringing him on with 20 minutes to go, i think he has more impact then.

Manwell Pablo Posted 26 June 2006 Posted 26 June 2006 rooney was our best player. Ashley Cole I would say. Only player who has bought some form to Germany as well
Stevosevic Posted 26 June 2006 Posted 26 June 2006 Ashley Cole I would say. Only player who has bought some form to Germany as well rooney was a phenomenon in that tournament. 2 man of the match awards in 3.5 games, 4 goals in 3.5 games. also, i am sure many would agree, we would have probably won the tournament if he hadnt gone off injured when we were 1-0 up. another "what if". same old story for england.
Loake Posted 27 June 2006 Posted 27 June 2006 I have been dissapointed with lampard and wouldn't have played him against Ecuador. I think if we play 442 he should not play, but if we continue to play 451 I would play him now(as he will come good)
Guest seanfox778 Posted 27 June 2006 Posted 27 June 2006 rooney was our best player. i forgot about rooney lets just say lampard had a good euro 2004
