Alan Rogers imminent?

Now the City are back in the market for old timers how about Alan Rogers?

He's a natural full-back, just what we need right now, and has been released by Nottingham Forest so is bound to be cheap.

Surely Rogers has another 10 years left in him and would probably be an improvement on Rufus Brevett.

We've already had Lennon, Muzzy, Jordan Stewart and one or two other old boys mentioned for a possible recall so why not Rogers?. He's two arms, two legs and still walks unaided.

Tiatto's got a 12 month contract why not help Rogers out as well. What has he done wrong?

And why not bring back those high sided leather boots why we're at it instead of these modern boots they keep slipping over and injuring themselves in?

After all, if we're going back to dad's army we might as well have kit they feel comfortable in.

And what about a free football rattle for every fan who renews his season ticket?

Ah, the beauties of modern PC English. :):):)

No chairmen in bra's and skirts...they become chair or chairs, I suppose, if there's more than one of them. Very flattering.

Ironically I've been trying to sell six chairs this week but don't get the wrong idea.

Don't be a tit. You could have just said "every fan who renews their season ticket."

Then, no bitches, ho's or pussy-whipped wimps would've got upset.

Do I detect a hint of a tantrum here, simply because the darling wonderkid Alan Sheehan isn't gettting a look-in under Rob Kelly?:rolleyes::rolleyes:

This is not the problem, he's gone off Sheehan. My signature holds the key.

Weren't you the 4-5-1 fan or does my memory fail me?. In which case I would expect the irony of a club with a "young and hungry policy" signing a 32-going-33-year-old to be wasted.

was that not CL policey? (backed by his employer (as you would hope/expect)) maybe rob kelly prefers a blend of youth and experience..............

Actually played in the correct way the 4-5-1 formation can be very effective and also be a very attack minded strategy when played with the correct players.

So all our players must come under this so called young and hungry policy eh? Well your opinion but I think Kelly is trying to give our side a bit of balance which is key word with every successful side. Fair enough our signings as of yet have hardly set the place alight and I'm as disaponited as anyone with Tiatto's new contract but an experineced player and with the right attitude is just what team needs right now.

Oh and one last thing... Lennon even now would give our side something, as would have Izzett had he been fit. Rogers I think we're all agreed on that one :D All comes back to the word attitude.

It was but since then Kelly has adherred to the idea of that approach continuing. Whatever, I would certainly agree with you that the system is being steadily modified.

Fans are only like managers really by temperament. Some clearly dislike anything they see as risk while others want to see a more expansive approach.

Some people say base your strategy on defence while I say give the opposition endless nightmares about how they are going to stop you.

There is not a right or wrong to this. It is about personal philosophy as much as anything.

I suppose if I'm going to pay to watch football I want some excitement. I don't want two negative systems cancelling one another out or, indeed, anyone who champions boring football - at any time or for any reason - managing Leicester.

We've signed ONE "old" player and given a new contract to another older player. Both only one year contracts!!! Hardly going back to dads army is it!!!!

And the point of this thread is.....?

Much what I think when, as mentioned in the opening post, I hear calls for the return of Lennon, Muzzy, Jordan Stewart etc.. Tiatto to me is just another example of moving backwards and a waste of our limited funds if his playing contribution matches last season's.

Add MDV returning to the fold and it doesn't make comfortable reading to me..

Oh no... a squad with 3 outfield players over 30!!!! One of whom will definitely only make the bench. Whatever shall we do. I'd wager we have one of the youngest squads in the league.

MASSIVE over reaction IMO.

You may mock but if the goalkeeper ends up making a fourth it will be potentially a third of the team or a quarter of the senior squad who will have nominal financial sell-on value.

If you feel that represents good use of limited resources, fine. Once more we disagree. Time will bring the truth and I sincerely hope it is you that are right and that at least three of the Fathertime Four prove to be valuable and reliable servants.

To drag us all into another pointles debate about our "young and hungry" squad our negative tatics, lack of wingers and Danny Tiatto..... Perhaps gay rights as well. There may be some slateing of Tony Blair at some point as well.
