City_4_Life Posted 14 July 2006 Posted 14 July 2006 Link Well Juve have been done big time. I dont know if to say if it was abit harsh on them or not, as i dont really know what happend.
Bluefoxtim Posted 14 July 2006 Posted 14 July 2006 Well I heard some of the telephone conversations, and that pretty much proves their guilt, they deserve everything they get! Might be a bit harsh on the other clubs though, as it seems they may have been involved in it without actually doing anything directly
MC Prussian Posted 14 July 2006 Posted 14 July 2006 Not only will Juve be relegated to Serie B, they'll also lose their last two Italian league titles! And AC Milan will not be allowed to participate in this year's Champions League competition.
De Vries The King Posted 14 July 2006 Posted 14 July 2006 I thought it was quite lenient and that they should have possibly tried to make an example of those clubs to put their foot down on the matter and to let other clubs know stuff like this won't be tolerated!
Maybes Posted 14 July 2006 Posted 14 July 2006 fook me. Well done the italian FA. It should stop all that corruption now.
nhfox Posted 14 July 2006 Posted 14 July 2006 Who are now considered to be the Italian champions for 2004/5 and 2005/6?
City_4_Life Posted 14 July 2006 Author Posted 14 July 2006 I think Inter wanted it, but i dont know if the Italian F.A. is going to give it to anyone.
Daggers Posted 14 July 2006 Posted 14 July 2006 fook me. Well done the italian FA. It should stop all that corruption now. Sarcasm is a low form of wit you know Pathetic penalties driven by yet more corruption... Who are now considered to be the Italian champions for 2004/5 and 2005/6? Isn't it all rather irrelevant? The only point in winning a league is celebrating at the end of the season. Who won what years ago just doesn't matter ~ does anyone think anyone will be going out celebrating their 'victory' tonight?
Nationwider Posted 14 July 2006 Posted 14 July 2006 This seems to be well worth all the hassle. I can't believe we've not caught on to this sooner. With careful planning, Matty Fryatt and Richard Stearman could soon be walking around with Premiership and World Cup winners medals around their necks. All that for a couple of seasons in the Champo? Cheap at twice the price. I'm putting the question directly to Andrew Taylor in his next Question Time slot.

What did you expect them to do???Lets face it juve are going to struggle to become a decent size club again. They will be in serie b for at least 2 season now, and they are going to loose all their decent players.

I would expect them to have relegated the main four protagonists to Serie C ... if not banning them from the league full stop and winding up the clubs. I believe this is a decision based on a number of bracelets having been delivered to the offices of the Italian FA. Juventus struggle to become a big club again? Nonsense, absolute nonsense. There's far too much invested interest to allow that to happen. Yes, they will LOSE all their decent staff ~ but they will buy others back in time and they will currently be signing up all the players they need to gain promotion ASAP. This, to them, is a set back - not a punishment.

Champions League in five seasons. It didn't take Fiorentina long to rise from the ashes (even though they've gone down again!).

Nationwider Posted 14 July 2006 Posted 14 July 2006 They could have fixed their way up? Probably! Crime pays, in football anyway. We're a yo-yo club. Why not just cheat your way up there? If you can't beat 'em, join 'em.

Nationwider Posted 14 July 2006 Posted 14 July 2006 Haha agreed. I partially agree on us being a yo-yo club but to be fair we aint been yo-yo for 2 seasons now.... ! Hmm. More no-no than yo-yo. It'll come though. And like when we beat Derby in 1994, it'll be all the sweeter for the loooong wait.... ...and 1996 against Palace. I bet no Man Utd fan ever felt what I did that day!

Nationwider Posted 14 July 2006 Posted 14 July 2006 I get the jist of your comment, Maybes, but it might come across as being a bit racist. You can call me a big, old politically correct fuddy-duddy, but an edit might not go amiss?
shen Posted 15 July 2006 Posted 15 July 2006 Who wants to bet on Berlusconi having a hand in Milan not getting relegated? Besides, let's just wait and see whether or not the 3 clubs will get relegated. Fiorentina WILL appeal so this might take even longer... My opinion on the matter is simply that, if the 3-4 clubs or whatever were found guilty, they should have been stripped of their professional license. And how come the referees and the individuals involved won't go to prison but receive a measly suspension?

In all the reports I've read it's just said that it was basically Moggi of Juventus and all those telephone Transcripts, and Juventus have practically been relegated two divisions anyway with the 30 point deduction as well.

Indeed they will need to have a absloutley stunning season just to get a play off place. RE: the 2005 & 2006 league titles, they have been given to Inter.
Thracian Posted 17 July 2006 Posted 17 July 2006 fook me. Well done the italian FA. It should stop all that corruption now. Nice idea and I'd like to see you proved right but I don't reckon even King Canute would have reckoned he could end corruption in Italy.
