You all need to calm down and chill out.

This is a good idea. The current board is the most commercially viable one that

I can remember. We can get the ownership of the stadium back.

Under the terms of the administration we have to re-pay Teachers pension fund

£17,000,000 over an unlimited period of time. Just think of the interest alone that we are paying! Once we have re-paid the money we can buy back the ground for just £1. However, £17,000,000 is alot of money, it could take the club years to re-pay and in the meantime we are being financially crippled by interst payments.

Further, who is to say that the pension fund decides that they want us out, they could give us notice to quit and then we will be out on are arses groundsharing at Welford road.

We need ownership back and through a joint venture vehicle both clubs will be able to raise the necessary finance via financial assistance and put in place a concrete payment shedule with another financial institution over an agreed number of years. We will be able to see the light at the end of the tunnel and will

not consistency have Teachers pension fund hanging over are head.

I hope this assists.

Regards

Two things are "Teachers pension fund hanging over are(our?) head" and if they are then a good reason to get shot of them.

Secondly if we halve our liabilities as well as reducing our running costs, isn't this a good thing.:huh::unsure::unsure::( <_<

Thanks to those who posted the url of the Tigers' Website...

Just one thing about this deal with Teachers. We are borrowing directly from the US where interest rates are about 1%.

It is a lot of money, but not as much as some people make out.

We will see  no increase in revenue unless our attendances go up.

Tigers will have money from the sale of Welford Road, plus increased attendances.

This is a done deal with no thought to how the fans will see it, and looking at the pics on the Tigers website, it looks more like we will be in their pockets once more.

Nice to the FT post the press release, but don't say how the fans were consulted, or anything.

Thanks, I'm glad you never got a pound of my money.

We weren't consulted - very few at either club knew about the deal. We were informed this morning along with all other shareholders - hence were not in any position to comment

Seems to work well at Hull.

The pitch is terrific but there is less cross over of fixtures to be fair.

That stadium was bought for both rugby and football though. This is a football stadium, that's what it was built for.

Look at the state of the Wigan, Reading, Watford, QPR and even Man Utd pitches after rugby matches.

If Man Utd don't have the supposed technonology that will make the pitch withstand rugby, i can't see us getting much better than them, so it will be a disaster. Just when we were starting to think of the Walkers as home aswell <_<

Not for one minute do I say I agree to it Craig, the jury is well and truly out for me at the moment. I need convincing that it is the right thing to do and not just financially.

In pitch terms, the fear behind the KC Stadium was the cutting up of the pitch.

Having just looked at the site, there is a special feature to prevent the loss of grass

The grass is 100% natural, comprised of 90% sand and 10% loam. It also has 3% additive of man-made fibre.

The fibre is woven into the roots of the grass and goes down 200mm. If threaded together, these fibres would circle the globe!

I think therefore that with the right money being spent, the pitch problem can be overcome. Some of the pitches that you mention have not had any design money spent on them to accomodate rugby. In fact, I seem to remember the necessity for Old Trafford to have it's pitch replaced mid season not so long ago, it couldn't cope with just football.

I'm not overly fussed what colour seat I sit on but it's the fact that its my seat, nobody elses. And I like to see the references to LCFC around the stadium, it's my club. I don't watch the Tigers and don't want to see their colours around the stadium. (Though we could always change the away kit next year to accomodate them).

The problem I see at the moment is that I'm struggling to come up with a reasonable argument that isn't from the heart.

And as for our poster from Wigan, I now know what W and FC stand for in his name.

I think promotion is the key in this issue. If we get promoted this season that should generate enough income to put this venture on hold for the time being. If we don't get promoted then maybe this may be the best thing for the club in the long term. Does anyone know if they are planning on making it bigger for the conserts and what not?

Doesn't because there's no boxes going round the corner

It even has the little disabled section for the Away fans which is at the base of the Family Stand. ;)

Anyway, they're just going to change all the seats to save arguing :P
