Im not sure how it works but i think itd be a good idea if they based it on ammount of fans actually in attendance.

I remember something being published about us being the loudest fans in the Premiership at one stage in the late 90s. I think it was The University of Leicester who conducted the research and found Filbert Street generated the loudest decibels.

I doubt the Walkers will provide the same effect  although, apparently the acoustics of the stadium is geared towards directing the noise on to the pitch.

We had the loudest fans away from home... it was the villa cup game away from home. Not sure about home.

Is there actually a prize for winning it?

Probably just a lil cup for the club, doubt any cash is involved.

That'd be a good thing - the measurement is taken from the centre circle as the teams run out.

Sadly, I won't be able to help. The roar is what prompts me to scarfe down the remnants of my revolting ice-cold pint.

I can't see the point in measuring the crowd noise when the teams come out if you then have to spend the rest of the game sitting down with the occasional synchronised clapping. The loudest roar will always emanate from a standing crowd.

It all depends on what happens on the pitch...........great exciting football, with all the thrills etc would get a crowd going. But I doubt city will win it, RK's city team play quite defensive and some may even say city under him are quite boring, hardly gonna get the crowd to stand and cheer!!!! <_<

The readings will be taken as the teams come out for the Ipswich game.

Can't see us winning this contest, though would love to be proved wrong!

Somebody please warn the stewards there may be a bit of noise on the day, otherwise it may result in the biggest mass eviction of a football crowd . (not that I am cynical or anything)
