Shum Posted 16 August 2006 Posted 16 August 2006 Birmingham have signed striker Gary McSheffrey from Championship rivals Coventry for £4m. Coventry have finally accepted a bid from the St Andrews club after rejecting four earlier offers for the 24-year-old. McSheffrey passed a Blues medical on Tuesday and has signed a four-year deal with the option of a further two years. McSheffrey has come through the ranks at Coventry and scored 17 goals for the Sky Blues last season. More to follow.

shen Posted 16 August 2006 Posted 16 August 2006 Cov must be laughing their way to the bank Worth 2mil tops It's a great deal for Coventry, and if we sold Fryatt we wouldn't get near the same amount. However the fans and Micky must feel bittersweet at losing him. Hope they don't get a decent replacement in time for the game on Friday.
Ikon_Klow Posted 16 August 2006 Posted 16 August 2006 Well it's good and bad news really. Good that Coventry have lost their best player but obviuosly bad as Birmingham have acquired a player who will help them greatly this season.

Louise Posted 16 August 2006 Posted 16 August 2006 Dunno whether this is good news for us or not, wasn't particularly bothered about playing against McSheffrey but if Adams brings someone better in before Friday, who might be making their debut and wanting to prove something...
