Gamesmaster Posted 19 August 2006 Posted 19 August 2006 Maybe theres a more closer to home feel to the thread subject? Dont the future of new labour (ken livingstone, gordon brown, charles clarke and "home secretary" john reid) have communist ideologies, that could take us towards a communist state. Tony bliar said the next new labour manifesto will include the i.d card system. He wont be pm, but one of the mentioned ones above will be. The i.d. card system will be designed to control us

golden gordon Posted 20 August 2006 Posted 20 August 2006 Agreed, don't vote Labour. i've absolutely nothing against an ID card system and am suspicious of people who are. What after all is a passport or any other means of identification that we so often need in our daily lives , stop being so paranoid .
Steven Posted 20 August 2006 Posted 20 August 2006 how? All transactions you make using your card or have validated yourself with the card will be recorded on a Central Government database. We should control the state and not the state control us.

If it was just a question of Indentification then who would disagree with you. However it is much more than that. It is a means of tracking your every movement in the UK.

The i.d. card system will be designed to control us Please enlighten us because I'm sure a few of us on here would like to know how having an ID card in your pocket is somehow going to control us! Grow up and stop being so fvcking paranoid all your doing is pandering to the gutter press ...........or is it just Blair your having a pop at? AGAIN
golden gordon Posted 20 August 2006 Posted 20 August 2006 Clearly we know you are the informer type. too bloody right , if i knew anything that could prevent a wicked attack on innocents then i most certainly would squeal , sorry for you if you feel differently and think more of personal privacy than preventing lots of women/children being blown to pieces

Tell us, what possible benefit is there, for us to fund with our money an i.d card?

Source Last year, 31,600 older people in England and Wales died of preventable, cold-related illnesses. The year before, according to the Office for National Statistics, 21,500 died unnecessarily. Indeed, each winter over the last five years, up to 50,000 older people have died because of the cold.

Tell us, what possible benefit is there, for us to fund with our money an i.d card? just 1 example is that fraud in the benefits system is happening now on a massive scale and an ID would help in the fight against it . true in itself it won't stop fraud as the criminal mind always finds another way . but using this argument to prevent crime is like saying " don't bother locking the door to the bank as criminals will find another way in " . it is a ridiculous argument , as the gov. etc need a whole raft of measures to fight crime and terrorism that is now the blight of our nation. now can someone give any credible reason why an ID card is such a burden to the law abiding , if as you admit we already carry similar documents , i have more faith in the experts in government who are attempting to lessen fraud / terror etc than hand wringing lefties who seek to hamstring anything suggested

Has the quality of life really go any better in that time? The Right Wing should look at itself first before blaming others.
Gamesmaster Posted 20 August 2006 Posted 20 August 2006 ICO. If you dont mind the government knowing your details, then by all means, tell us all here who you are, all your details. I.D cards will not stop terrorism
