Fez of Mahrez Posted 27 September 2006 Posted 27 September 2006 I lived in Highfields I think. Maintained that it was in Evington though Really, I just don't know. Same here! Haha or Stoneygate!
The People's Hero Posted 27 September 2006 Posted 27 September 2006 Same here! Haha or Stoneygate! Where were you mate? I was on Mere Road.
Fez of Mahrez Posted 27 September 2006 Posted 27 September 2006 Where were you mate? I was on Mere Road. Kimberley Road. There was a hotel called The Stoneygate Hotel on the road just off mine so I used to put my address as Stoneygate but in reality that was across the way. I was on the edge of Highfields. For me though, Highfields was the other side of Evington Road. Although on our first night in the house, two of my housemates went to the Co-Op and a bloke dropped a knife in the street in front of them. And someone got murdered a few doors up from us a few months later. Oh and there was that murder where the body was in the car for days on St James Road I think it was? Was quite big news.
Master Fox Posted 27 September 2006 Posted 27 September 2006 I voted other as "don't know" wasn't available Me too

I remember all of those things. Except the knife dropping incident. Once though, when our door wasn't locked, 2 men walked in asking for James (my name) and insisting that I sell them some drugs. I was quite scared and would like to point out I'm not and never have been a drug user, let alone a dealer! Another time a group of about 5 people walked in, got half way across our lounge and looked at my mate and I and said 'Oh, is this a house now?' Brilliant.
Lester LXXIV Posted 27 September 2006 Posted 27 September 2006 I've got relations in Braunstone, always looks dodgy round there!
Foxing_Around Posted 27 September 2006 Posted 27 September 2006 Oh yea!, how could I forget. It does seem like quite a long list! There are plenty of nice area's though

Saw someone get off a train there, laid out 2 seconds after walking through the stations exit. Welcome to Chapeltown.

Dr The Singh Posted 27 September 2006 Posted 27 September 2006 Saw someone get off a train there, laid out 2 seconds after walking through the stations exit. Welcome to Chapeltown. My uncle used to own a Video rental place on chapeltown road, and I remember one night we were sitting in the park and drinking, we saw 2 cars racing each other, unfortunately a car was pulling out from a side street and one of the cars hit the car. The drivers from the cars that were racing, get out, pull there guns out, grab the driver from the car that pulled out (the guy was semi unconcious and had blood all over him, one could see that the guy was really hurt) and gave him a right beating, luckily one of there mates got out of the car and pulled them away before they killed him!!! Ambulance arrived shortly, but no police!! Scary stuff, never shit it so much in my life!!!

Aint Chapeltown nearer to Sheffield Barnsley and Hudds than it is Leeds?
Fez of Mahrez Posted 27 September 2006 Posted 27 September 2006 I vote Knighton. Seriously though what a ghetto - ask Fez he saw the devastation in person on Saturday. Burnt out cars... kids with no shoes... it was truly horrific.
Janx Posted 27 September 2006 Posted 27 September 2006 Aint Chapeltown nearer to Sheffield Barnsley and Hudds than it is Leeds? oh you're thinking of another Chapeltown, yeah nr Sheff.... thats glamorous compared to the Leeds one.
Manwell Pablo Posted 27 September 2006 Posted 27 September 2006 oh you're thinking of another Chapeltown, yeah nr Sheff.... thats glamorous compared to the Leeds one. ....right, well the Sheffield one is bad enough so I think I will stay well clear.
Fez of Mahrez Posted 27 September 2006 Posted 27 September 2006 Manor Estate in Sheffield sounds like a barrel of laughs.
Fez of Mahrez Posted 27 September 2006 Posted 27 September 2006 I'd avoid the Blackthorn, Bellinge and Lings area of Northampton.
