Dr The Singh Posted 27 September 2006 Posted 27 September 2006 I'd avoid the Blackthorn, Bellinge and Lings area of Northampton. Nama Pind Chounk, Jalandhar City, avoid!!!!!
Fez of Mahrez Posted 27 September 2006 Posted 27 September 2006 Nama Pind Chounk, Jalandhar City, avoid!!!!! It's pretty easy to avoid a place when you haven't got a clue where it is!
Dr The Singh Posted 27 September 2006 Posted 27 September 2006 It's pretty easy to avoid a place when you haven't got a clue where it is! I think there are motions to twin it Leicester.....boy Leicester won't know what's hit them!!!
Smudge Posted 27 September 2006 Posted 27 September 2006 When I was a kid, Braunstone Estate was definitely the most dangerous place. From the voting not much has changed. Where is St Matthews?
Foxing_Around Posted 27 September 2006 Posted 27 September 2006 I give you Leeds Ladies and Gentlemen, one of Britains friendliest and cosmopolitan cities.... to be fair its not all bad in fact its great city to work and hang about in, like all cities, there are many "nogo" areas! I agree, if you know where not to go, Leeds is fine. I was taking a driving lesson years ago, we were up near seacroft and a little lad, probably only 8, decided to to try hit the car I was in with a pole and try to intimidate me and driving instructor!

I bet the Pole wasn't too impressed either <_<
Fez of Mahrez Posted 27 September 2006 Posted 27 September 2006 The residents of Mowmacre Hill must be pretty pleased with this so far. Good job, fellas!
john_lcfc Posted 27 September 2006 Author Posted 27 September 2006 braunstone isnt as bad as beaumont leys or saint mathews to be honest in my opinion. though new parks is pretty rough too from playing football there. wait there all rough and yes mowmacre hill is doing very well but it is still a rough area if you dare to enter
stez Posted 27 September 2006 Posted 27 September 2006 braunstone isnt as bad as beaumont leys or saint mathews to be honest in my opinion. though new parks is pretty rough too from playing football there. wait there all rough and yes mowmacre hill is doing very well but it is still a rough area if you dare to enter when i was house hunting a few years back, i went through a few of these area (my price bracket was very low! ) and i decided i would avoid anywhere with conrete roads which a lot of these places had....... hence rolling up in rowlatts (balderstone close.....the nice bit of rowlatts !

stez Posted 27 September 2006 Posted 27 September 2006 You lot aint lived if you aint bin on the rally, or Tudor road, now that's scary. i lived on rowan street not far from there. i only went down there (tudor road) in my car!

bigneville Posted 28 September 2006 Posted 28 September 2006 You lot aint lived if you aint bin on the rally, or Tudor road, now that's scary. Mate my house in Leicester almost backs onto the rally at the Stokes Drive entrance....
Foxing_Around Posted 28 September 2006 Posted 28 September 2006 I bet the Pole wasn't too impressed either <_< Someone had to
Katy Posted 28 September 2006 Posted 28 September 2006 no, i went to a lovely pub in thrussington (i still do) or 'the walkabout' in town after picking kayteh up from work i went to the co-op loads; once saw a 'boss' and his sex gimp in there! Oh the memories Saffron Lane used to make me feel bad when I drove through it. How can Saffron Lane be so rough as whereas just across the pork pie roundabout on Saffron Road it's so 'whato'?
Ultra Posted 28 September 2006 Posted 28 September 2006 I always thought Northfields was up there with the worst of them Once upon a time, perhaps, but not any more. It's changed a lot in recent years. Quite a few Muslims now live on that estate.
Manwell Pablo Posted 28 September 2006 Posted 28 September 2006 Once upon a time, perhaps, but not any more. It's changed a lot in recent years. Quite a few Muslims now live on that estate. So? Some of the roughest estates I've ever seen have had quite of few Muslims living on them.
Ultra Posted 28 September 2006 Posted 28 September 2006 Although on our first night in the house, two of my housemates went to the Co-Op and a bloke dropped a knife in the street in front of them. And someone got murdered a few doors up from us a few months later. Oh and there was that murder where the body was in the car for days on St James Road I think it was? Was quite big news. I remember that. My local optician did in his wife and then left the body in Highfields to try and fool plod. I think they lived in Oadby really.
Ultra Posted 28 September 2006 Posted 28 September 2006 So? Some of the roughest estates I've ever seen have had quite of few Muslims living on them. Maybe, but Northfields is far less rough since they moved into it. Braunstone on the other hand is a slum and always will be, no amtter who lives there.
Manwell Pablo Posted 28 September 2006 Posted 28 September 2006 Maybe, but Northfields is far less rough since they moved into it. Braunstone on the other hand is a slum and always will be, no amtter who lives there. You wont hear me argue with that.
Fez of Mahrez Posted 28 September 2006 Posted 28 September 2006 Some of you make areas of Leicester sound like no-go zones on a par with the Bronx.
Head Honcho Posted 28 September 2006 Posted 28 September 2006 Oh the memories Saffron Lane used to make me feel bad when I drove through it. How can Saffron Lane be so rough as whereas just across the pork pie roundabout on Saffron Road it's so 'whato'? Simple! One's a council estate the other isn't.
lcfc_jme Posted 28 September 2006 Posted 28 September 2006 Maybe, but Northfields is far less rough since they moved into it. Braunstone on the other hand is a slum and always will be, no amtter who lives there. I have to say I agree. Northfields is now a place you can walk through at any time of day (or night) and not worry about anybody jumping on you, beating you or stabbing you. I live on the edge of Northfields, and I laugh when people say that they think it's an intimidating place and rough - it's not even close to being rough, that's just its old reputation. Places like New Parks and Braunstone, even Eyres Monsell, are quite intimidating and you never feel completely comfortable walking through those areas
