Daggers Posted 2 October 2006 Posted 2 October 2006 The stuff that made/makes you go - **** yea, it is great to be alive! MY kids being born and every (almost) day since Bird making the journey through life harder than if I'd done it alone, but more rewarding allthe same Fresh autumn days Bluebells Coming in all frozen and wet, sitting in front of the fire and having tea and crumpets Afternoon dozes Learning stuff Going very very very fast Seeing things for the first time Curry Belgian beer and wine Mates
filbertway Posted 2 October 2006 Posted 2 October 2006 I think the christmas period is one of the best times around The (lack of) snow, parties, seeing old relatives and such.
syston_fox Posted 2 October 2006 Posted 2 October 2006 -Mark De Vries beating the offside trap and placing the ball past Paul Robinson in the 90th minute -Dion Dublin getting his head onto a corner in injury time at Charlton in front of delirious away fans Two of my happiest memories!
The People's Hero Posted 2 October 2006 Posted 2 October 2006 One of the best things is in the face of what you might at the time term as adversity when you discover strengths within yourself and also in your true friends. It's also great to wake up on a Saturday morning and think 'sh it, i've got to go to work' and then realising you don't have to. That moment of realisation is bliss.

Afternoon dozes, I'd probably agree with... I had a lot of them when I was a kid. Curry is definately a winner. Shame I only have it once a year now, rather than once a week minimum. Learning stuff can also be fun - that's why I'm at university... it's not just to prove I'm clever, honest! Replace 'Belgian' with 'Most' and you're there... can't stand North American piss-water tho. Mates of course. At this point I'd like to add walking in a light rain on a warm summer day. There's more but it's hard to think on the fly. I'll be back, though.

It's also great to wake up on a Saturday morning and think 'sh it, i've got to go to work' and then realising you don't have to. That moment of realisation is bliss. Sometimes the most enjoyable part of the day. Sometimes it's a real bastard though... you wake up '3 hours late' and think your boss is going to kill you, you race to get ready and you notice something aint right - you quickly realize it's a sunday. Suddenly, you feel like a right tit racing round like a blue-arsed fly for nothing.
The People's Hero Posted 2 October 2006 Posted 2 October 2006 Personally for me, some of the best days in my life include. Being Best Man at my mate's wedding. Graduating and watching my girlfriend (perhaps ex..??) graduate. Very proud day. Setting up a charity with my best mate and doing various bits towards that. Actually, that's all I can think of.

I thought it was a bit cold and the roads were a bit quiet. Doh!
Daggers Posted 2 October 2006 Author Posted 2 October 2006 Going on a pub crawl in the countryside on bicycles Laughing so much on a Sunday lunchtime at the things we did on a Saturday night, till it hurt Getting arrested for being drunk in charge of a ladder Getting arrested in Alabama for being sarcastic Snorkeling with the fishes in Aruba and Curacao Riding a horse up into the Andes Being chased by skinheads and escaping Leaving the UK Living in Colombia Coming back home Getting hugs from my kids at school every afternoon Singing along loudly to songs you'd never admit to owning
lookwhaticando Posted 2 October 2006 Posted 2 October 2006 Did I tell you all about the time (NOT SO LONG AGO) when I accidentally turned up at work over 2 hours early. I thought it was a bit cold and the roads were a bit quiet. Doh! No you didn't. Blimey. Still, I suppose it's better two hours early than two hours late. You've got some good work ethic on you, lad. Hats off to ye. On a slightly related note... I'm quite lazy when it comes to time management. Well, I say time management, I actually mean changing my watch according to daylight-savings/standard time. So during the winter, I don't bother to put my watch back to standard time - and I see out the winter on Daylight Savings. It takes a day or two to get adjusted, and it's no problem for the next 6 months at all. Well one day, around mid January, I inexplicably believed the time on my watch and wandered off in the direction of my class - only to find my classroom was full, 5 minutes before class. WTF! This can't be! Class is a) never full and b) certainly nowhere near full a whole 5 minutes before class truly begins... a quick consultation with my watch and I realized I had been conned. Turned up an hour early. Thankfully I stopped before I got inside the classroom - when I saw it was busy I thought about things. Didn't manage to make a twat of myself by going into the wrong class.
Daggers Posted 2 October 2006 Author Posted 2 October 2006 Snuggling into a thick duvet in a cold house...any...minute...now
lookwhaticando Posted 2 October 2006 Posted 2 October 2006 Snuggling into a thick duvet in a cold house...any...minute...now Not for me. I prefer to keep coverings to a minimum, and often leave the windows slightly opened thru the night - helps me deal with the cold better. It does the trick over here to say the least... it's -15 outside overnight, my window is partly open, I usually find myself sleeping ontop of all my covers, and I can go out without a coat - just my t-shirt, jumper and trousers etc. Everyone else looks like they're dressed for -50 compared to me.
Katy Posted 2 October 2006 Posted 2 October 2006 Just knowing ive made someone happy or helping someone out. At my Grans funeral last week when my mum and dad were talking like nothing had happened (they divorced 20 odd years ago) and the general togetherness of the side of my family I dont see very often My little one singing Leicester songs (shes 3 ) Im sure there's loads more

The People's Hero Posted 2 October 2006 Posted 2 October 2006 It's a really nice feeling as has been mentioned when someone takes the time to say 'thankyou' and mean it... you know your efforts have been appreciated and it's all worth while.

The People's Hero Posted 2 October 2006 Posted 2 October 2006 What about giving a woman an earth shattering (fake) orgasm?
cisono Posted 2 October 2006 Posted 2 October 2006 What about giving a woman an earth shattering (fake) orgasm? I wouldn't know about those
