Ric Flair Posted 17 October 2006 Posted 17 October 2006 I you could permanently get rid of ONE current Leicester player who would it be? It's quite hard actually, i'm still un-decided. I mean there's too many of them. Tiatto Johansson Johnson Elvis Douglas Atleast the likely lads from last season aren't playing now (de Vries, Douglas, Sylla) but we still have just a smany shockers this season.
Katy Posted 17 October 2006 Posted 17 October 2006 I think ive made my feelings perfectly clear in the past but Johnson is top of my list, lazy feck wipe! I mean he's even overtaken Twatto and that's saying something!
Jimmy Posted 17 October 2006 Posted 17 October 2006 douglas or sylla as they are not going to be involved so there are just a waste of wages
OBO Posted 17 October 2006 Posted 17 October 2006 Douglas based on wages wasted or Johnson based on him being a total waste of space!
Mort Posted 17 October 2006 Posted 17 October 2006 The likes of Johnson, Johansson, Douglas and Sylla are just an utter waste of space, soaking up wages that could be spent on decent players who might add somthing to the squad... Tiatto has had his moments this season to be honest (I say this as a confirmed memberof the "Tiatto is a uless T*at" brigade) but the likes of the players I've mentioned i mean come on! The good news is both Johansson and Johnson should be gone by the end of the season, unless RK (and I wouldnt put it past him) trys to retain them I'm not sure bout when Sylla and Douglas are free to be set lose, is it the end of this season or next? But dont worry... Milan and Curbs will just cancel their contracts and send them packing in the new year, or at the very least farm them out on loan
Fox in a Box Posted 17 October 2006 Posted 17 October 2006 Tiatto For not being able to play a full 90 mins without getting booked EVER!

fosseman Posted 17 October 2006 Posted 17 October 2006 It has to be Sylla because he doesn't even get on the bench and with no reserve league, what does he do to merit his wages? I just find it depressing that this bloke offers nothing to the club and gets well-paid for it!
gatesheadfox Posted 17 October 2006 Posted 17 October 2006 has to be one of the overpaid fecks that never plays....douglas or sylla.
Thracian Posted 17 October 2006 Posted 17 October 2006 Hughes. Nils can defend, Tiatto tries til he bleeds, is capable of supporting, doesn't get pushed around and sometimes hits a good free kick. Johnson has skill even if its mostly in his mind now, Hammond has speed, affects defenders and gives 100% every game, Douglas I don't count because he's out of the picture anyway. Hughes is just a myth. People have said he just needs to be fully fit but its an illusion from the evidence of 12 months. He's the ultimate journeyman. He does enough to give the impression he's working, makes enough passes to look involved, points his fingers as if he's got authority, takes free kicks to give himself an extra chance of an assist though he's no flighter of a ball - but basically he's permanently in neutral. He doesn't make incisive passes, doesn't score or even shoot very often, rarely gets in the box, rarely wins or looks like he'll win a tackle, doesn't offer close meaningful support, doesn't track back with conviction, his passes are often a means of transferring responsibility, he cannot dribble past players and doesn't have the pace to beat them for speed. He's not an attacking midfielder in any sense of the word. He's negative. Apart from Williams, who I still have some faith in as being a guy who can mix in with quality footballers. Andy King is the only attacking midfielder we have. On Saturday he literally got beyond the penalty spot of the opposition box more times in 15 minutes than Hughes manages in a couple of months. He had a goal disallowed, and missed several brilliant chances but the point was he got there. And he got back to do his more mundane duties. He can pass, he can dribble, he can support and he can head the ball. That is what an attacking midfielder does - the heading being a bit of a bonus.
Fez of Mahrez Posted 17 October 2006 Posted 17 October 2006 Joking aside I'd have to go for Sylla. Absolutely pointless him being here. We'd be better off still paying his wages and letting him get some match practice on loan somewhere. Anywhere.
coale39 Posted 17 October 2006 Posted 17 October 2006 Hopefully Sylla isn't on stupid wages but anyway... What would happen if we had an injury crisis? I suppose you could argue that we could use some of the youngsters but they are very inexperienced. Kelly doesn't like to take the risk. My most useless player is Douglas. We have two keepers better then him so get rid.

I suppose you could argue that we could use some of the youngsters but they are very inexperienced. Kelly doesn't like to take the risk. Sylla is a right-winger and he's below Low (a League One player at best), Hughes (a central midfielder), Maybury (a right-back) and probably Porter (a left winger/central midfielder really) in the pecking order for his position. You could play Stearman there if necessary, or Hammond or god forbid O'Grady. He is a total waste of resources because Kelly would rather try Hughes and Maybury there than him in his natural position.
Monk Posted 17 October 2006 Posted 17 October 2006 Nils. Hands down. He can defend, but he cannot pass, he has no vision, and he makes too many glaring errors. How many stupid goals have we let in because the ball has come through his zone of the pitch? Most of them I think! Certainly one of the ones at the weekend did.

Certainly one of the ones at the weekend did. i actually felt like running on and smacking the bloke at the time, we were on top in the game and he just didn't seem to want to know what was going on around him. i was fuming all the way through the half time interval. fortunately he was more up for it second half but his perfomances have been unforgivable. he wants a premiership move as well, hahahahaha
Ultra Posted 17 October 2006 Posted 17 October 2006 Douglas. At present he adds nothing to the squad except a dent in the wage bill. Would also have said Johansson, except we don't have a left-back to take his place.
Ric Flair Posted 17 October 2006 Author Posted 17 October 2006 Hughes. I can't defend Hughes any longer, he's just not suited for this style of football. He's not good enough, but he does score us a few goals that none of our other first team midfielders do. There are worse players in this squad to get rid of. For me it would have to be Johnson. He's a non-entity, an enigma. He doesn't tackle much, he can't pass, he can't run and he's never in a position to shoot. Terrible. Plus he's a Kelly favourite, players like Sylla, Douglas, etc aren't anywhere near the first team so although their wages are a waste atleast Kelly isn't playing them.
I_miss_wembley_finals Posted 17 October 2006 Posted 17 October 2006 Douglas for me no doubt - gotta be one of the highest earners on the books and completely unecessary, unless we ship Henderson out! Then it'll be Sylla for the chop, another total waste of money, no chance of getting in the side!!
coale39 Posted 17 October 2006 Posted 17 October 2006 Sylla is a right-winger and he's below Low (a League One player at best), Hughes (a central midfielder), Maybury (a right-back) and probably Porter (a left winger/central midfielder really) in the pecking order for his position. You could play Stearman there if necessary, or Hammond or god forbid O'Grady. He is a total waste of resources because Kelly would rather try Hughes and Maybury there than him in his natural position. Fair point but Douglas would probably be on higher wages then sylla. Also, apart from once in a blue moon (chelski), do ya get 2 keepers injured? Does anyone know when his contract runs out? Hopefully its this year but if it isn't, ship him out. Sylla seemed useful when he first came here. At a push he could probably play in the middle. Thats one more position covered then douglas. I would rather see sylla play or given a chance then see Maybury play there again. Im probably just babbling now...
AyewJoking Posted 17 October 2006 Posted 17 October 2006 I'd get rid of Sylla. OK, it doesnt look like he will play for Leicester ever again anyway but he is just a waste of space. Douglas should go if Henderson wants to stay. Say what you want about Douglas but I think he would be OK as a number 2 keeper at this level. Johnson always seems to be in the team and he is next to useless so I wouldnt get rid of him completely but I'd only use him as a last resort. Tiatto isnt ideal but could be useful as back up. At least until the end of the season. Fringe players (IMO) like Hughes and Maybury may as well stay because the squad is small enough as it is.
Fez of Mahrez Posted 17 October 2006 Posted 17 October 2006 So basically we can nearly make a whole team of suggestions; Douglas Maybury Tiatto Johansson Sylla Johnson Hughes O'Grady Hammond de Vries Roll up, roll up! Only one spot left in the full XI!
