Amazing isn't it. I thought he might of done alright there

I was thinking about this when I saw that St Johnstone result. Scottish football in particular seems to work in cycles and once one of the Old Firm gets in a slump, it tends to last a long time. I thought McLeish actually did pretty well to win a couple of things when O'Neill was at Celtic but I get the feeling Celtic have been dominant since 2000 whereas Rangers ruled the 1990s. Hard to see Rangers getting out of this for a while if someone with Le Guen's reputation can't turn it round.

Walter Smith?

The thing that amazes me is, Strachen has done his best to ruin Celtic and not managed it lol.

Kenny Miller, Adam Virgo, Paul ****en Telfer

There's so much evidence that even average Championship players can cut it in the Old Firm.

Aside from religious hatred and geographical loathing there doesn't seem to be an awful lot left to Scottish football. Mad foreigners must really brighten the place up? :P

To be fair, Miller does have some quality about him.

In the Championship yes.

He's no Champions League player.

hes still scoring goals in the champions league though. there are some poor sides in the champions league and celtic are one of them.

that is one of the reasons i gave up watching the competition. its hardly champions league anymore when newcastle can qualify for it, they are champions in what sense? that they havent won anything at all since 1969? champions & runners up league may be a better name?

Great result think might be our year for a cup :D

the top 4 teams in scotland Old firm , Hibs and Hearts could cope with the championship easily , theres just not enough backing in scotland.

And honestly leicester or just about any team cant give MAN U as good a game as celtic done.

Good on them in europe , FCUK the tics when they come home.

as for rangers = SHIT

hearts = dont make me go there :ph34r:

Couldn't care less. Scottish football is crap.

Here is an alternative view to your own.

I happen to agree with the above thread, I remember the exciting Leicester team in the seventies, Keith Weller & Frank Worthington etc, I even remember the likes of David Nish & Alan Clarke, before they left to find success at Derby & Leeds.

Having lived in the South for over 30 years & exampled both countries football, I know there is certainly more truth in he attachment than your, crap & obviously unqualified, opinion.

Errrr....

From reading that thread, I understand that a couple of posters believe that Charlton, Wigan, Reading, Middlesbrough and a few other premiership teams would struggle in the SPL.

I know it's a Hibs forum and you might expect a certain amount of bias... but any of those would walk to 3rd or 4th in the SPL at WORST in my opinion.

The thing is... they're so defensive.

No one is saying it's sh it.

It's just not as good as the EPL.

It speaks volumes when they are arguing against an opinion which had not previously been expressed. Defensive.
