And that was for the short time he was actually getting involved Connolly 7.5 Scowcroft 5.5 Subs: Gudjonsson 5 Tiatto 6 Heath 4 - same eaon as gemmill

filbertway Posted 3 January 2005 Posted 3 January 2005 Taylor 8 Dabidas 6 Keown 6 Dublin 9 I thought he deserved a special mention as i think he captained the team very well and was always talking and telling players what to do. Stewart 8 Makin 6 Williams 6 Gemmil - played well in the time he played but not long enough to judge. Nalis 4 was tired and put scowcrofts goal bound shot over the bar. Connolly 7 scowcroft 5 tiatto 6 heath did not play long enough Gudjonsson 7
Little Nicky Posted 3 January 2005 Posted 3 January 2005 Taylor - 8.5* - Two fantastic stops to deny certain goals, did his get knocked and drop the ball trick at one point though which worried me, and his kicking as has often been said needs some work! Stewart - 8 - Looked good on the left flank, his tricks don't alway pay off though Makin - 6 - Had an average game, got forward a couple of times but not as many as I'd like to see a wingback doing, Canero; where's he gone AGAIN! Dabizas - 6.5 - Some solid defensive headers, generally played well Keown - 6.5 - Solid enough at the back, I take back what i said about him being slow, he is a pacey bloke for 38! Dublin - 7 - Decent play today, kept doing stupid scissor kicks which annoyed me! Williams - 8 - Had a good performance, was influential in a few attacks! Gemmill - 5 - Wasn't really involved in the match Scowcroft - 6 - Played okay, one of his better performances of late Connolly - 7.5 - Work rate was top notch again, should have scored more I think Subs: Gudjonsson - 6 - Didn't set the world on fire, was solid enough though Tiatto - 6 - Not his old self as he's not yet fully recovered! Heath - N/A only on for 2mins

I dont remember him making any mistakes... ? Williams did some good things but he hardly had the ball, we hardly had any possession, QPR probably had 90% of it in the 2nd half, which is why the defence gets the good ratings. Scowcroft was not only the worst player for us, but the worst out of both teams.

Mark Posted 3 January 2005 Posted 3 January 2005 He did nothing though, if he actually did something in a game i'd give him better ratings but he did nothing. Not helped by the fact we decided to sit back all game, but at least Connolly gave it a go. I can only remember one decent flick on where he put Joey through on goal.

Scow Posted 3 January 2005 Posted 3 January 2005 Taylor 8 – Man of the Match for me. Made some terrific saves, especially that point blank one in the first half. As most have mentioned, his kicking was dodgy again. Makin 6 – One of his better games, but he still loses too many tackles. He will go in to challenges half heartedly, with the opposing player escaping with the ball. Put in a few good crosses when he got forward. Keown 6 – Not a great performance, Furlong made his presence felt. Lost quite a bit in the air and his distribution was poor when attempting to hit it long. Dabizas 7 – Solid at the centre and was in the thick of the action when QPR piled forward. Dublin 7 – Same as Dabizas, showed some composure on the ball, but then wasted it by making some wasteful passes. Stewart 7 – Made some excellent forward runs and his crossing is getting better. Had to work very hard down that left side as one of the 3 midfielders were too slow to help him at times. Gemmill 6 – Wasn’t really involved except for a few passes before being taken off injured. Nalis 4 – Another poor game, looks tired and off the pace. Williams 6 – Didn’t make much of an impact, but showed some nice touches and got forward to good effect early on. Dispossessed a bit too easily though. Connolly 5 – Generally disappointing as his hold up play was a bit poor, but worked hard again and took his penalty well. Scowcroft 3 – Poor again, like the previous 4 games. Poor first touch, poor passing and clumsy fouling. Defended well from set pieces, but he’s playing upfront now and making no impact. Subs: Gudjonsson 3 – Woeful again, his passing is dire. Tiatto 5 – Ran around a bit, got booked again, but at least he was getting close to the opposition. Heath – Not on long enough.

Southern Fox Posted 4 January 2005 Posted 4 January 2005 Taylor 8 MOM Suspect kicking but everything else in this game was top drawer. On more than 4 or 5 instances was responsible for pulling out one-on-one stops against the Rangers attack. A performance to be proud of. Keown 7 Solid and dependable as usual. Was less vocal and tired towards the end. Witnessed him getting frustrated with Dabizas when trying to hold the back 3 for an offside call. Dabizas 6 How we keep a clean sheet when this player plays defies belief. Stuck to his job but on too many ocassions was clumbsy and outsmarted or outmuscled by a physcial QPR friontline. Dublin 7 Had a good game but still has worrying moments. Shows a bit of class on ocassions with neat traps, turns and clearances. Distribution out was not all that when Taylor was throwing the ball to him. Makin 7 Others may disagree but a good display by the full back but doesnt have the attacking presence that Canero can give. Did his best to get up and down and worked hard. Stewart 7 Jordan played well in the wing back role. Had a couple of dangerous 40yard runs that creating havoc for the opposition. Defensively was sound. Williams 6 Glimpses of class but spends to much of the game chasing shadows and not on the ball. Really needs to demand the ball more. Hardly got a kick 2nd half. Nalis 5 Look tired and jaded. Gave the ball away too often and lacked that craetive mind that he has shown this season. One game too many over the xmas period for Lilly. Gemmil 5 Cam off early for what I can assume was an injury Scowcoft 6 Poor display by Scowcroft. For once he didnt get much joy in the air gainst a strong back line and looked heavy legged. Link up play with Connollly non exsistent. Connolly 6 Took his penalty well that he helped win and when everyone around me thought he would miss he didnt. Hurried around to try and get busy but created little. Super shot in 2nd half that went inches wide but his performance still lacks. SUBS Gudjonsson 6 (GEMMILL) Was up for the battle and was probably the busier of the midfielders. What was disappointing was that everytime he worked hard to get the ball back he was usually responsible for giving it back away. Struggles against the physical Championship. Tiatto 5 (NALIS) Didnt really have time to make a mark on the game. Gave the lads a boost with his introduction to keep Rangers out. HEATH 5 (CONNOLLY) Was brought on at the death to tie up the lead and count down a few more seconds.

Ric Flair Posted 4 January 2005 Posted 4 January 2005 Taylor 8* - A great shot stopper, but his kicking was bad again. But if he pulls off that many great saves ewach match i'll allow for his schoolboy kicking. Makin 6 - Not a fan of the scouser, he doesn't offer us anything that Canero, Stearman or Maybury can't so there for i'd get rid of him. He isn't that good defensively or going forward and his distribution is bad. He looked better yesterday though. Dublin 7 - He looks alot better playing in that sweeper role, but he tries to be abit fancy sometimes which will always land a player of Dublin's ability in the shit. His passing was wank aswell most of the time, but he dealt with everything QPR pumped at him. Keown 6 - He didn't look as commanding as he usually does, but he'll never really let us down. His balls out of defence were unsuccessful most of the time and he mis timed some challenges. Dabizas 6 - Another player who thinks and should be better than he actually is, he doesn't impress me and to think he's played at the highest level alot in his career frightens me. He is clumsy and commits far too many fouls, but his experience gets him through and he was decent yesterday. Stewart 8 - Quality game again from Stewart, i'm actually excited to see him play these days. If he can hone his skills abit more he'll be a class player. Some great runs yesterday and he deserved a goal, shame he missed a near open goal in the second half. Nalis 5 - Poor game for Lilian I enjoyed watching his son Enzo more at half time with his penalties that was brilliant. I reckon Nalis needs a breather, i'd play Dawson on saturday as Nalis's bubble is bursting. Gemmill 5 - Didn't do anything in the 12 minutes he was on the pitch, well pleased he got injured as he's the crappest player we have. Williams 7 - Thank **** he finally got to start a match, he didn't have that much joy out on the pitch yesterday but he gives us another essential dimension. He is class on the ball and he'll never chase and battle all day long but that's where Gudjonsson, Dawson and Nalis come in. We should utilise Williams talents better, he's an attacking midfielder and shouldn't be punished because he can't run and battle like **** like our other talentless midfielders seem to do. Scowcroft 4 - Oh dear your not having a good time out there anymore are you sir, either you know your off or you've finally been found out. Poor game, didn't do anything and him and Connolly have no link up play what so ever. See ya Scowy, the darling of East Anglia. Connolly 6 - Connolly's problem is he's not Paul Dickov if he was the crowd would love him. Playing in a team like Leicester you need to battle like **** and be strong, which Connolly struggles to do and that's why he's not ripping this league to pieces. Pleased to see him score and unlucky not to score a screamer in the second half but other than that he wasn't in the match much. Subs: Gudjonsson 5 - Below average again, battles well but doesn't win the ball and pass. He wins it and then loses it straight way so there's no point in him winning it really, his fancy karate kicks in the centre of the park are pointless aswell. Tiatto 5 - Glad to see him back, oh shit he's banned again. Short but sweet. Heath 5 - Had a blinder.
