Fez of Mahrez Posted 17 December 2006 Posted 17 December 2006 Mine would have to be Manchester United when we were top of the league in autumn 2000 and they outclassed us 3-0. We had a really good little team who seemed to be able to beat anyone on their day but playing Robbie Savage at right wing-back and seeing Ryan Giggs murder him every time they got the ball down the left was soul-destroying. You could see it happening a mile off.
Suffolk_fox Posted 17 December 2006 Posted 17 December 2006 I used to hate playing West Ham - they always used to tear us apart down the wing.
lildave3 Posted 17 December 2006 Posted 17 December 2006 This season the best teams have been Preston and West Brom imo.
Joe. Posted 17 December 2006 Posted 17 December 2006 This season the best teams have been Preston and West Brom imo. Defensively Preston were superb yes. Apart from them, When we got battered 4-1 by Man U was a good performance from them.
dandannieldanok Posted 17 December 2006 Posted 17 December 2006 This season I would have to say Luton. Otherwise perhaps Man Utd when they beat us 4-1 at the Walkers.
Guest Gist Posted 17 December 2006 Posted 17 December 2006 I haven't seen many really good teams but Preston do seem really well organised and hard to beat both times I have seen them play down here.

Wils Posted 17 December 2006 Posted 17 December 2006 Chelsea done us 4-0 few years back they were pretty impressive, also Wigan last season beat us 2-0 and really played us of the park that day.
Scow Posted 17 December 2006 Posted 17 December 2006 This season the best teams have been Preston and West Brom imo. Against us? If so, then I find that highly amusing. We were comfortable against WBA for 80 minutes until Kenton morphed in to Frank Sinclair for a split second. Preston started well, got the early goal, and then sat back for the remaining majority of the game.
Maybes Posted 17 December 2006 Posted 17 December 2006 Best team I have ever seen us play against was Man Utd when they beat us 6-2....it was 1-1 at half time aswell
Scow Posted 17 December 2006 Posted 17 December 2006 Best team I have ever seen us play against was Man Utd when they beat us 6-2....it was 1-1 at half time aswell Theo skipping past Keane with ease and thundering a 25 yard shot past a helpless Schmeichel.
Maybes Posted 17 December 2006 Posted 17 December 2006 Theo skipping past Keane with ease and thundering a 25 yard shot past a helpless Schmeichel. That was absolute quality.Who scored our second...was it walsh or guppy, cant remember? Their strike - force was awesome though, with cole and yorke up front ... the rock stam at the back(and he even scored )!!

Their strike - force was awesome though, with cole and yorke up front ... the rock stam at the back(and he even scored )!! It was Walsh, via a Guppy cross/shot deflection. I remembered Taggart had a bit of a 'mare that day (prior to him becoming quite good) Nonethleless, they were superb that day, albeit we were down to the barebones. I think we even played Stuart Wilson upfront that day. As for Stam, his only goal in English football against us, pah.
RowlattsFox Posted 17 December 2006 Posted 17 December 2006 this season, preston outclassed us in 1st half passing and movement was great. southampton probably played the best football.
Maybes Posted 17 December 2006 Posted 17 December 2006 this season, preston outclassed us in 1st half passing and movement was great. southampton probably played the best football. Yeah and they lost. Thats the best game so far this season at the walkers.

Scow Posted 17 December 2006 Posted 17 December 2006 would of been nice to have had a shot on goal. We had a couple - just like we did at Wolves.
Swedging Posted 17 December 2006 Posted 17 December 2006 Burnley have fecked us over 2 seasons in row - just by knowing what they had to do to beat us, and doing exactly that
Maybes Posted 17 December 2006 Posted 17 December 2006 Burnley have fecked us over 2 seasons in row - just by knowing what they had to do to beat us, and doing exactly that Burnley are just the walkers bogey team........ come to think of it, just about everyone else is aswell
Guest Posted 18 December 2006 Posted 18 December 2006 As for Stam, his only goal in English football against us, pah. Isn't it always the way?
uncle_connolly Posted 18 December 2006 Posted 18 December 2006 Have got to say Wigan really impressed me a few seasons back at the Walkers when they beat us 2-0.
ithuriel Posted 18 December 2006 Posted 18 December 2006 best oppo team, mmmmmmmmmm the present board i suppose
Manwell Pablo Posted 18 December 2006 Posted 18 December 2006 The Newcastle United side that battered us 6-0 may of been 6-1 (was a long time ago).
Ric Flair Posted 18 December 2006 Posted 18 December 2006 Burnley have fecked us over 2 seasons in row - just by knowing what they had to do to beat us, and doing exactly that Definitely, I also applauded Wigan off the pitch against us 2 seasons ago. They were superb and Graham Kavanagh gave one of the best midfield displays i've seen at The Walkers.
