Daggers Posted 30 December 2006 Posted 30 December 2006 Rate the year ~ how kind has 2006 been to you?
Libertine Posted 30 December 2006 Posted 30 December 2006 6. No particularly bad things happened, no great things either.

MC Prussian Posted 30 December 2006 Posted 30 December 2006 First half very good. Second half miserable. 5 out of 10.
lcfc till i die Posted 30 December 2006 Posted 30 December 2006 Football - 7/10 Genral - 6/10 Not A Great Year But Wasn't The Worst!! Best Wishes For 2007!!
billabob Posted 30 December 2006 Posted 30 December 2006 general life (excluding my gf in that!) 1/10 been a loooooooong, baaaaaaaaaad year general life, including my gf 9/10, well she got me through it
Simi Posted 30 December 2006 Posted 30 December 2006 Football - 5 General - 6 Breaking my leg really did put a downer on the last few months of the year.
lookwhaticando Posted 31 December 2006 Posted 31 December 2006 First half was stellar, particularly in an educational sense. I took my courses and wiped the floor with them. Otherwise average. Second half was a poor showing in an education sense - that is, there was too much of it. Must learn not to stack your course load in order to catch up blunders in previous years. Overall, a solid 6.5 out of 10.
Maybes Posted 31 December 2006 Posted 31 December 2006 7.5 Did well in my A-Levels and secured a good full time job.
Finnegan Posted 31 December 2006 Posted 31 December 2006 4. Very, very poor year. Started about December 05 and carried on from there - few highlights, really. 2007 best be blinding in contrast or the valium prescription's getting repeated.
Daggers Posted 31 December 2006 Author Posted 31 December 2006 Glossing over the shitness that is City at present and the ****nuttery of the shannigans going on behind the scenes, 2006 was a corking year. I managed to spend all of it without a job, just being a Dad - that rocked. I won a flat screen HDTV, a signed shirt, a small win on the premium bonds and a new appreciation for living. We bought a house and the lad had his ear operation without complications. We had our first snow for six years and our first Autumn for seven. The kids are away at the Grandparents this week, so me and the missus have had time to reflect on where we are now and where we've come from...and, if you knew my past, where we've come from is a place that isn't worth visiting. Where we have arrived at to feels like heaven. Heaven. We have enough money to get the things we need and not much more, and that is all anyone really needs. Capping it all off has been this simply wonderful Christmas. 2007 has got a lot to live up to
Daggers Posted 31 December 2006 Author Posted 31 December 2006 Yeah yeah, rub it in you tosser. ...but I missed off all the bit about tantric sex with supermodels and having a private jet for six months...and the fortnight I spent in Heff's Bunny Mansion just to spare you. Some people. Tch!
Finnegan Posted 31 December 2006 Posted 31 December 2006 I've a house on the hill with a red water bed, that puts Hugh Hefner's mansion to shame.

Capping it all off has been this simply wonderful Christmas. 2007 has got a lot to live up to That's a very moving story. I've just entered a phase in my life where I look back and forth, wondering what I'll turn into some day. Caught in a limbo, with my grandparents' generation slowly passing away, deep reflections on life and death, love and money.
Thracian Posted 31 December 2006 Posted 31 December 2006 After all the drama of my wife's brain tumour the previous year - and all the difficulties that surrounded it - 2006 was a Blessed relief. Shankly's words, "Every day you've got life and breath you've got a holiday" have never felt more pertinent. I'm just hoping now we can make some New Year resolutions come true and that 2007 will be a time of moving forward and enjoying new adventures.
The People's Hero Posted 31 December 2006 Posted 31 December 2006 2006 has been a pretty rubbish year for me. 2007 WILL be my year.
MC Prussian Posted 31 December 2006 Posted 31 December 2006 2006 has been a pretty rubbish year for me. 2007 WILL be my year. Same for me for most part.
