that's bullshit. The linesman claimed he motioned to headbutt, but they simply just moved forward at the same time.

he wasn't banned for 6 months, there was no headbutt., i'll sue your ass. He's can't play any longer anyway due to back injury.

More likely they found him out. This guy had a serious attitude problem. Bet this was a disciplinary / falling-out situation.

Ah, Ben Marshall. I can chart his career in a few succinct bullet points:

 

• Arrives as a decent Championship prospect
• Scores an absolute screamer against Chelsea
• Begins to like the smell of his own farts, backed by Stringer wanting his babies
• Scores one or two other decent goals
• Goes completely off the boil
• Tells the fans to FOAD at that horrible 2-0 defeat away at Barnsley, while strolling across to take a corner when we're already 2 down.
• Falls out with Pearson and barely plays again, coinciding with an upturn in our form that sees us scrape the playoffs.
• Career trajectory divebombs
• Does a thing at Blackburn for a bit but by all accounts is alright, nothing special.
• Apparently ends up at Millwall. Does next to nothing.
• ??????
• Apparently plays for Norwich but this is news to pretty much everybody
• Released

I seem to be 18 years too late to this but i played against Ian Thompson at U13/14/15 (if memory serves) in the late 80s early 90s. He was playing for Blaby and Whetstone and I was playing for Seaton Youth ( Horsewell Lane. Wigston).  He ripped us to pieces every time we played them.  I remember him scoring in that ITV game and it didn't surprise me at all. He was different class to anyone else.  Amazed he didn't hit the big time.

I played against him too. TONS of top class

players at that age group which I imagine is probably the same for any age group but that was a serious age group for talent.
