Trumpet Posted 18 January 2007 Posted 18 January 2007 I do love a bit of wind, as the name suggests, but more on todays wind - anyone got any stories to tell how they amazingly dodged death, i dont but maybe you all do? All ive got for today unfortunately is my mate telling me how he walked past the holiday inn, to find the roof blow down and having to dodge debris, 5 seconds later and he would have been dead, unlucky.
Bluefoxtim Posted 18 January 2007 Posted 18 January 2007 Tree snapped in half at my sixth form college. That's about it.
hairy Posted 18 January 2007 Posted 18 January 2007 My neighbour picked up her new audi hot hatch this morning. She parked it her drive at lunch and a ridge tile came off the roof and landed on top of her new car. Cant help but laugh
Foxed Posted 18 January 2007 Posted 18 January 2007 The smokers in our building have complained for years about being stuck out in the cold freezing their t!ts off. They got a new shelter (think gloryified bus shelter) last spring and my office overlooks it. Just after lunch (with no one in it) it blew over and is now lying flat on the ground, completely totalled. And it was pretty well cemented in. Now the smokers are complaining even more as the wind and rain are terrible and they're getting soaked!

Magictv Posted 18 January 2007 Posted 18 January 2007 Power cut at school, so halfway through lunch we got told if we could get home without a school bus we could go, a few people went right away, then all the lights went back on so everyone buggered off with amazing speed like that Spanish bull run and got out before we got told to stay in school. Fun fun fun.

Monk Posted 18 January 2007 Posted 18 January 2007 London is awful. Only about 2 of the tube lines were running. Everyone was walking down the middle of roads that had been closed off. When I left the office I thought there'd been a bomb or something!! Wetherspoons, however has not blown away, so I am going for a curry, which incidentally will create further gale force wind!

Louise Posted 20 January 2007 Posted 20 January 2007 The wind is hilarious. It just picked up a poor coursework report from my desk, floated it across the room and dropped it into my recycling bin. Absolutely brilliant.
