Matt Posted 2 February 2007 Posted 2 February 2007 Not really a massive phone fan, But like to have a nice looking phone, I have the Samsung D500 at the moment, Its good, but because of my work it gets very dusty and scratched, looking at the Nokia N70 though, looks really nice, anyone got one? Good? Worth 185.99 (Pay as you go) What other alternatives (Which are similar to this) are there? I know getting a new phone ain't gonna stop dust/scratches, but i'll try and keep this protected and clean (Buy a case or summit - I say that every time I get a new phone though) I was looking at getting the LG Chocolate before christmas but then I saw it in the shop, I was all glossy and scratches really would look terrible on that phone, also really didn't like the idea of the touch-sensitive button idea.
syston_fox Posted 2 February 2007 Posted 2 February 2007 My mates just got rid of his N70 because he was not impressed at all. Within a few weeks of having it, it would turn itself off or just freeze on you. The other main problem was that it was painfully slow and would take an eternity for it to do certain aspects. He wasnt impressed at all and went back to using a much older Nokia until his contract ran out and he could get a new upgrade!

Not much to say the cameras 2mega pixel and the videos very good aswell....its 3g the keys are soft and easy to txt with ive dropped it loads of times and it just bounces back, very strong and reliable! Has a good MP3 player as well! Not sure the PAYG price as mines on contract

I'll just keep searching!

Flynny Posted 2 February 2007 Posted 2 February 2007 N70's are prone to problems. Mum has one, pretty new. They're also dead bulky and heavy. If you're getting one of the 'N' phones try a higher number or don't bother.
The People's Hero Posted 2 February 2007 Posted 2 February 2007 Software is a bit of an issue on any Nseries phone. I've had two and both are prone to freezing, turning themselves off, etc.
Matt Posted 2 February 2007 Author Posted 2 February 2007 Read review sites and they havn't got good reviews on those sites either so might give the N70 a miss Looked at review sites on the 6280 that fox123 suggested and compared to other new Nokias it seems to have the best review but even that seems to be a case of best of a bad bunch. Whats gone wrong at Nokia? IMO They always used to be the best at phones but seem to have gone downhill since.

Basingstoke Fox Posted 4 February 2007 Posted 4 February 2007 Best new Samsungs (I think) are the D900 and the E900 the E900 has touch sensetive button rather than the usual sort which I think is pretty cool
