Durnerz Posted 12 February 2007 Posted 12 February 2007 Get him in! we're becoming like Sheff Utd with Warnock and his striker fetish.

Geo V Posted 12 February 2007 Posted 12 February 2007 http://www.fansfc.com/frontpage/frontpagen...p?newsid=162741 Great striker if he can get fit I think but do we really need anymore? I think he is real quality and could be as effective for us at this level as Chopra was at Cardiff. He is a real goal-scorer and we havent had one like this for years. I hope it happens as a loan and I hope it happens permantely too as he is what we would need to improve significantly. The problem is with Horsfield upfront for the foreseeable future I can see the likes of Hume and Fryatt slipping down the pecking order.
JoeyB Posted 12 February 2007 Posted 12 February 2007 it would be good, but could it mean that one of our current strikers could be on the way out? hume, fryatt, Hammond, cadders
Ric Flair Posted 12 February 2007 Posted 12 February 2007 Fryatt is still injured. Elvis is crap. Hume is off form and Horsfield is out of shape. So, yes we do still need another striker and Todorov is quality at this level. He's been injury free now for over a year and worth a loan spell. Glombard may well be gone in a few weeks anyway.
Ed 1 Posted 12 February 2007 Posted 12 February 2007 Our strikers havent exactly banging the goals in of late... nor the rest of the season. In fact the combined efforts of our top three (Hammond, Hume and Fryatt) have as many goals (17) as Mcauley, Steraman, Kisnorbo, and McCarthy (granted Kisnorbo has 7). IMO if Todorov can realise the form that he had in 'Division 1' that season before his injuries we have a top striker on our hands.

Wasnt he injured at the start of the season? and sent to wigan to get match fit?
MC Prussian Posted 12 February 2007 Posted 12 February 2007 Wasnt he injured at the start of the season? and sent to wigan to get match fit? I thought he had recovered before the start of the season and was thus sent to Wigan for match practice. The more strikers, the better. Question is: Will he score for us?
Phlashman Posted 12 February 2007 Posted 12 February 2007 Yeah he was top goal scorer in this division in 02/03, Hopefully he'll start banging them in.
Thracian Posted 12 February 2007 Posted 12 February 2007 You can get as many strikers as you like but none of em will do particularly well until we get someone like Andy King in midfield. Why it takes so long to sink in I've no idea.

JoeyB Posted 12 February 2007 Posted 12 February 2007 You can get as many strikers as you like but none of em will do particularly well until we get someone like Matt Holland in midfield. totally agree
Simi Posted 12 February 2007 Posted 12 February 2007 This would be a great signing for us. He's been linked with us for a long time now so hopefully something can materialise.
Thracian Posted 12 February 2007 Posted 12 February 2007 This would be a great signing for us. He's been linked with us for a long time now so hopefully something can materialise. I'm not against Holland but he scores once in 10 games on average these days. We need better than that and King can do better than that.
Phlashman Posted 12 February 2007 Posted 12 February 2007 But Kelly has said there could be more on their way. http://www.thebluearmy.co.uk/details.asp?b...6269754|p|536|0 I think his signings so far have been his B-List for if the takeover didn't happen, that why we've got 1-3 month loans, once Milan's in we can go and get, what's left of, our A-List. I wouldn't be suprised if we see a new midfielder soon.
JoeyB Posted 12 February 2007 Posted 12 February 2007 I'm not against Holland but he scores once in 10 games on average these days. (i know he's not been played yet tho) i think that he would be better suited being sent out on loan to a middle league 1 club or top league 2 club to get some match experience and then start to bring him into the fold slowly

Surely that means he can play in the Championship.

Bloomer Posted 12 February 2007 Posted 12 February 2007 http://www.fansfc.com/frontpage/frontpagen...p?newsid=162741 Great striker if he can get fit I think but do we really need anymore? No, Gerd Muller, Marco Van Basten, Hugo Sanchez, etc were GREAT Strikers, this bloke is OK.
JoeyB Posted 12 February 2007 Posted 12 February 2007 No, Gerd Muller, Marco Van Basten, Hugo Sanchez, etc were GREAT Strikers, this bloke is OK. would any of those play for us? NO! so todorov is probably the best striker out there who's avaible for us to get in atm

Why it takes so long to sink in I've no idea. Is there a thread that you dont mention him mate?! This is about Todorov!! I think Cada`s short term deal wont be extended either way as he could hardly have impressed in training as he hardly gets a game and infact we have added more forward players and left him out. As for Hume, Fryatt and Elvis I think that will be down to however the new manager rates them. I thing Fryatt can play at this level but maybe needs a loan season next year but Hume must be kept regardless of who comes in as he is a good striker.
STUHILL Posted 12 February 2007 Posted 12 February 2007 I'm not against Holland but he scores once in 10 games on average these days. We need better than that and King can do better than that. No Thracian you don't KNOW that! I agree that if he as good as you constantly say he is, then yes he should be given a chance, but you can't say he will be better than that and score more than 1 in 10 until you've seen him at Championship level and not Youth level, totally different.
Wils Posted 12 February 2007 Posted 12 February 2007 Id have Todorov here. We need someone who can score goals and at the minute none of our strikers are doing that, and hes prooved before he can score goals at this level.

I wish RK would just give him a game a two so we could make an initial judgement on this lad for ourselves, his name is brought up in every single thread
