Southend United FC Posted 1 March 2007 Share Posted 1 March 2007 Hello lads, just wondering how many you bringing down to us on Saturday?? Should be a great match what with us in a relegation dog-fight and you lot beginning to hit some form. To us it's seen as a must win game... Hopefully you've sold out the away end to make for a cracking atmosphere . All the best SUFC
lookwhaticando Posted 1 March 2007 Share Posted 1 March 2007 I thought I read that we'd sold our initial allocation of 900? Expect quite a few of us down there as we've won a few games lately.

All the best SUFC We sold the initial allocation of 1018 I think it was and have been given a further nine hundred and something. What do you think the score will be? I can see us sneaking a 1-0 win. Southend United FC Posted 1 March 2007 Author Share Posted 1 March 2007 It's very hard to predict with us at home really. At one point we'd lost 3-2 to a 10 man Hull team and then again we've beaten west brom and southampton. You could possibly nick it as I'm sure we'll be at bit nervous and if we dont get an early goal, the crowd will start gettin on the players backs. I'm gonna back my team and I reckon we'll win it 2-1. As I said, it's a must win for us. Although obviously you're still gonna be going all out to win games, it means more to us than you since you've dragged yourselves away from the foot. Southend United FC Posted 1 March 2007 Author Share Posted 1 March 2007 do your fans sing lots, no offence but i wouldn't have thought you would have that good support. And tell these lot that ccampbell-ryce is awesome When we're playing away our support is outstanding. Last week at sheffield there wasn't a second without us singing even when we were losing. The 'ring of fire' chant went on for 20 minutes non stop. At home we're not the best. The whole of the East stand dont tend to sing much. The south stand do their best but there is only a few rows on each tier so it doesn't have the best acoustics. Th West stand, closest to the away fans (block V W & X) are where the most vocal fans sit. A lot of noise is generated from here but only when we're winning usually. Its often the case that the louder the away fans, the louder we'll be. We'll be well up for it on Saturday though. As for Campbell-ryce, he is our real danger man. Whenever he gets the ball, he immediately looks to run with it and can beat players with ease. He's small and is rapid. I hear you're having problems at left back at the mo, so this could be a crucial area of the pitch for us. Saying that, we're also having similar problems at left back... I shouldn't worry about that we don't use right wingers, three centre mids and one left winger.
Ric Flair Posted 1 March 2007 Share Posted 1 March 2007 I shouldn't worry about that we don't use right wingers, three centre mids and one left winger. Luckily for us, Hughes is very doubtful. I hope Yeates or Cadamarteri is given a start and we can tear it up out there. Or put Porter out there? I love it when the opposition get exposed down the flanks. He gets knocked off the ball easy though doesn't he? And he's inconsistent? Well he was at Rotherham any way. Rapid agreed, has a good touch as well I think. And LLF when have we ever been linked with Jamal Campbell-Ryce? If being linked with a player is someone off here saying " I think we should sign Jermain Cambell-Wyce from Sutton on Sea" than maybe I'd agree with you. Scow Posted 1 March 2007 Share Posted 1 March 2007 Maybury will move to the left with Skills not available. Kenton or Stearman at right back, probably the latter. <_< Got a birrofa bad feeling about this game. Southend can be a dangerous team, and with our best back 4 broken up, they could well exploit that.

Geo V Posted 1 March 2007 Share Posted 1 March 2007 What nice fans Southend have . Its a shame when you lose your best player and that caravan living Eastwood will be leaving in the summer. I hope for your sake that he manages to keep you up, hopefully at Leeds Uniteds expense before you lose him. Good luck but from sunday onwards! None of the likely solutions to our left-back problem carry any great appeal to me although nothing Kelly said in his interview gave any clue to his preferred solution to the problem. Im not going this saturday although I`ll be turning up to watch us at Palace next time. BTW to all Leicester fans who havent been to the delightful Southend, if you like a gamble, just turn up! You can take a risk at one of the casinos and obviously due to newish legislation dont need to give notice. You can join then and there. Also, you can take a bigger gamble as there are some half decent clubs in around Southend-on-sea, full of some nice looking scantily clad females. Unfortunately, there are also a load of old stinkers but thats the same the world over, apart from maybe Beverly Hills Me and my mates used to go to Southend religiously a few years ago. It started with the arcades (no we were not 16 but about 25 ), would then eat, go to the casino and then straight into a club or two. I went there a couple of months back after a lads night that started at Romford dogs and the place hasnt changed. Its still buzzing and the boy racers are still out in force . Its a great night out actually....

X2 Casino's and a club open until 5:00am and can even have bfast!.......see below./ www.bakersbar.com Oh and no I don't own any of them or the Chippy Next time I come to Leicester I will expect the same level of service. Thracian Posted 2 March 2007 Share Posted 2 March 2007 I think it was Crewe at home last season when Sheehan played there n got sent off. And they sure taught him a lesson for it. McCarthy was sent off in a later game. Kisnorbo was sent off in a later game. Horsfield whacked someone across the head only recently. But it was only Sheehan got pilloried and only Sheehan who got exiled. And ironically, Leicester played some decent football that day. As they did against Sheffield Wednesday at home in the previous League match he played. In fact that was the last time we beat Sheffield Wednesday - and by 2-0. Thrashed em really. We've never looked like beating them since. How times change. I doubt he'll get sent off again in a hurry.
