Nationwider Posted 6 March 2007 Posted 6 March 2007 Mmm. The fall-out from Valencia/Inter will be big. Well, until UEFA fudge it/ignore it like they ignored Lille's pathetic walk-off last week. The highlight for me has to be Cambiasso's "fists of fury" through a crowd of at least 70 burly security gurads in an attempt to get into the Valencia dressing room after the match. I assume if he got through, he won't have stopped until he's actually killed every single Valencia player and staff member. The whole thing was like watching a South American league match. Bonkers.

I supported Liverpool as a kid living in Cambridgshire and I still look out for them if Leicester arent playing (blood in veins Leicester since moving there as a teenager and following them home and away for ages BTW!!). I was delighted that they beat Barca although they were so unlucky in the first half with those chances missed and hitting the woodwork that I thought they were going to get stuffed in the end. Its good for English footy and its great for some of the worlds best to play in a stadium where all the fans seem to join in and create noise as thats the type of thing that elevates opinions of players about our game to the extent that some may well want to come to this shores. It will be no surprise to me if Rafa doesnt sign Eto and Villa next season! Now that would be some Liverpool team.

Decent player. RE Essien, Well yes, this is my point, with the problems JMs got at the back he'd love to have any of the Barcelona back four at Chelsea. Carvahlho is a inconsistant, ball watching, long haird, Potugese toss pot last night was a classic example of him being out of line and costing Chelsea a goal.

If you saw him play every week like you did Carvalho you would realise just how good he is.

You just know that if Barcelona had scored a second that a sudden stream of ballboys would come out of the tunnel. I know this is a strange point to pick upon but I am a petty person. They sat off the ball and waited for a stray pass. Would that have worked against the Barcelona of last year, no. Liverpool lack the attacking guile I like to watch, Arsenal and Manchester United posess it therefore I want them to progress. Barce have it in bucketloads thats why I wanted them to go through. I am fully aware I am in the minority of 1 and that people will not like me for it.

Who won 1-0, yes Liverpool had more chances but many were on the counter attack in the 2nd half. I know none of you will come round to my way of thinking and I wouldn't want you to. I just felt Barce were crisper, they passed the ball around the defence and wore the Pool out at times, perhaps if they got the goal on the hour rather than 75 minutes we would be reviewing a very different outcome. Furthermore, if Valdes had just caught the ball normally in the 1st leg the Pool would be staring down the barrel at defeat. My opinion may conflict the stats and the opinions of more esteemed FTer's, but I just believe in my theories.
