Mikey Posted 2 May 2007 Posted 2 May 2007 You'll Never Walk Alone. Doesn't that song just bring tears to your eyes. The fans are just so passionate about their club. Yesterday was one of the best times I've seen it sung. Especially before the match. What do you think of the song?

The song is lame but in footballing terms, its great to see the Scousers raise there scarves and all sing from the old sods to the grannies, kids to chavs! There are few suporters in world football who make the noise that they do when they sing YNWA, especially at Anfield before a midweek Champs League game for some reason.

They have plenty to sing about the lucky sods.
Spee-d Posted 4 May 2007 Posted 4 May 2007 They do have a lot to sing about but they also have a song for every player though and start singing it not just when they score but when they do something good - a tackle or anything. I think they also have the record for being the loudest fans in the world when they played Chelsea two years ago. I still thick Celtic sing YNWA better. The whole stadium sings it whreas at Anfield it is just the kop.
lcfc_jme Posted 4 May 2007 Posted 4 May 2007 Liverpool's fans are just the same as everybody elses - loud when they get going. I have heard of many away teams going there this season and the away supporters have come away saying Anfield is overrated for atmosphere and is like a library at times.

Great atmoshere at the big games but admits he is embarassed by fans from teams like Wigan, West Ham and Sheffield Utd. The only ground in the premiership that has decent noise levels at most games is Fratton Park. Their fans just go there to have a south coast party though, they dont care as much about the result.

YNWA comes about because Gerry & the pacemakers were scousers (other songs include ferry 'cross the mersey). it really became big after hillsborough and the fans felt more of a family and the lyrics to YNWA say this properly.
