Geo V Posted 11 May 2007 Share Posted 11 May 2007 Weird stuff. Its obviously at Arsenals training ground and maybe that isnt equiped for supporters. They should have played it at Arsenals reserve team ground which is at Barnet.

Even more so if they aspire to coaching or management.

Micky Ruddle Posted 11 May 2007 Share Posted 11 May 2007 I wouldn't be surprised if the Arsenal Youths were foreigners, no disrespects. Wenger is keen on overseas youths. But we'll stick with the traditional English Youth set up
Jonbluefox9 Posted 11 May 2007 Share Posted 11 May 2007 I'm not surprised that it's being played behind closed doors. Arsenal's under 18s have probably played all of their home games behind closed doors at their training ground. Just because we're not as strict with our under 18 matches at Belvoir Drive doesn't mean it's the same everywhere else.

Wezleylowski Posted 11 May 2007 Share Posted 11 May 2007 The bit in there about Mattock isnt good news. Hope the lad is fit for the final, it would be a real shame for him to miss it after the effort he has gone through to get there. Get well soon Joey and good luck to the academy playing the gunners. Hullfox Posted 11 May 2007 Share Posted 11 May 2007 I'm not surprised that it's being played behind closed doors. Arsenal's under 18s have probably played all of their home games behind closed doors at their training ground. Just because we're not as strict with our under 18 matches at Belvoir Drive doesn't mean it's the same everywhere else. Having watched them this year they are way way off the finished article. Indeed, their closest resemblance to their first team was their abiliy to crowd the ref on every decision. They are undoubtedly beatable by a well drilled and controlled side. BartonFox Posted 12 May 2007 Share Posted 12 May 2007 London Colny is private land shared by Watford and Arsenal, neither are allowed to have 'open' door games at that site.
I8AM Posted 12 May 2007 Share Posted 12 May 2007 Yeah that's where they play their reserve games so I would think the Under 18's play there too I think it's actually same as us at their Training ground...........which is Shenley. From the Beags.......he's confident of turning Arsenal over on Tuesday.
davieG Posted 15 May 2007 Share Posted 15 May 2007 From OS Foxes Relishing Gunners Test City's Under-18s will travel to Group A winners Arsenal tomorrow for a Play-Off semi-final showdown (12 noon). Steve Beaglehole's side finished top of the FA Premier League Group B table after amassing an impressive 66 points from 28 games. Walkers Youth Academy Manager Jon Rudkin (pictured) said: "We are thoroughly looking forward to the game against Arsenal and it will prove to be a great challenge for us. "Arsenal are keen to progress but certainly won't be taking anything for granted against us." The winner of tomorrow's clash will then meet Sunderland in the final at the Stadium of Light on Sunday (May 20). The Black Cats booked their place in the final by overcoming Manchester City 3-2. The two finalists will then battle it out for the right to represent their country at a tournament in Dallas. A report from the semi-final will appear here first on lcfc.com as soon as it is available.
