Nod.E Posted 20 May 2007 Posted 20 May 2007 In Wymeswold. New bands stage, Tribute bands stage. 25th-27th May. Ive got my FREE tickets curtousy of my uncle who works for the project! Should be decent! Anyone heard of it or going?
Mike Hunt Smells Posted 20 May 2007 Posted 20 May 2007 I know of plenty of people who are going - not going myself though. According to one of my mates, acts including "Oasish", "The Clone Roses" and "Fake That" will be there!
Daggers Posted 27 May 2007 Posted 27 May 2007 Jesus wept, it's BUDGET. Unbelievable. You're now officially middle aged Kokpops
Leonisco Posted 29 May 2007 Posted 29 May 2007 I was doing stewarding for this, which meant I got free entry and free food and drink all weekend! :w00t: And last night we got to drink all the booze that was left over from the festival and I've only just sobered up! The Oasis, Queen and U2 tribute bands were all feckin awesome, and Neville Staples from The Specials randomly turned up so we gave him a one-hour slot. This festival's only 3 years old but it's growing all the time, we reckon about 6,000 turned up this year. Watch out for this one in the future.
Cheese Me Posted 31 May 2007 Posted 31 May 2007 2nd year I've been and enjoyed it loads. You just have to get into it and forget the fact that it's 'budget' and you can have a great time. Someone gave me a flyer for a similar event in Yorkshire in August called TribFest if anyone'e interested. PS - if anyone was there and saw Fake That - that was one of the funniest things I've ever seen, fair play to them for doing that, very entertaining.
Alexikokopops Posted 31 May 2007 Posted 31 May 2007 You're now officially middle aged Kokpops Ah, this explains my eligibility for the over-21 side in the upcoming no-holds-barred grudge match a week on Saturday.
Nod.E Posted 2 June 2007 Author Posted 2 June 2007 it was awesome! as its already been said, oasish, US4//U2 and queen were by far the best acts there, all stayed in character so well and sounded so much like the real thing it was uncanny! for example noel gallagher putting his two fingers up at the camera, made me laugh!! It really is quality. And for everybody who is thinking " hmmm, budjet ", its all the same music, near enough the same thing, the only difference being the famous people such as BONO,Noel and Liam who produced it. It was a great weekend and it even had the weather!! haha Oh and did anybody have any of those waffle chocolate things? heavenly!!!
Simi Posted 24 February 2009 Posted 24 February 2009 Anyone going this year? To Glastonbudget though?

Will probably be a giggle.
