DanTheFoxBhoy Posted 12 June 2007 Posted 12 June 2007 I prefer lagers myself, less full on flavour and less of a hangover in the morning!
lookwhaticando Posted 12 June 2007 Posted 12 June 2007 I usually drink to enjoy the drink, rather than to get completely shit faced... so Ales get my vote. Drinking an Ale from Tadcaster at the minute. Used to go Tadcaster occasionally in my earlier years... old family friends moved there. They used to live on our street - a couple of doors down from the house I was born in... they moved shortly after I was born (coincidentally?) Anyways... this Ale is rather strong, but really quite delightful all the same. There's nothing wrong with a good lager from time to time... I just object to the piss they serve over here... "domestic" beer.
DanTheFoxBhoy Posted 12 June 2007 Author Posted 12 June 2007 I just object to the piss they serve over here... "domestic" beer. Wouldn't happen to be Budweiser... Similar to the Tooheys pish they serve up over here Carlton all the way baby
Wycombe Fox Posted 12 June 2007 Posted 12 June 2007 I prefer lager - never really developed a taste for ale. My current favourite tipple is Kronenbourg Blanc, a cloudy lager with a slight hint of citrus. Very refreshing and goes down a treat!
stez Posted 12 June 2007 Posted 12 June 2007 lager all the way, i went through a phase of trying different ales, but thought they (the ones i tried) were pretty grim and dull for all you beer can fans
Alexikokopops Posted 12 June 2007 Posted 12 June 2007 Wouldn't happen to be Budweiser...Similar to the Tooheys pish they serve up over here Carlton all the way baby Yeah, but you get a question in the lid of each one. Ideal.
AoWW Posted 12 June 2007 Posted 12 June 2007 Don't drink either very often as I'm a complete lightweight when it comes to anything that isn't spirits or wine. However, of the 2 options I'd have to go with lager - just make it a decent one, mind!
Lord Nibblington Posted 12 June 2007 Posted 12 June 2007 Depends what the cheapest is! I probably slightly prefer Ales, though I am not that fussed about drinking lagers.
lookwhaticando Posted 12 June 2007 Posted 12 June 2007 Wouldn't happen to be Budweiser... Aye... among many others. Blue, Canadian, Coors, Miller, Keith's pale, etc etc. Basically not a fan of cheap piss you can get in any old pub. Sleeman's and Rickard's, while two reasonably big brands in Canada, are actually quite nice though. A cut above Labatt's Blue.
DanTheFoxBhoy Posted 12 June 2007 Author Posted 12 June 2007 Yeah, but you get a question in the lid of each one. Ideal. You mean with Carlton? You get quiz questions with Carlton

Unabomber Posted 12 June 2007 Posted 12 June 2007 Has to be Carling Premier for me, great drink that is. Although it's rarely available on tap....

The People's Hero Posted 12 June 2007 Posted 12 June 2007 I bought four crates of Grolsch last night.
Manwell Pablo Posted 12 June 2007 Posted 12 June 2007 I bought four crates of Grolsch last night. I take it ones for me.
Kent Fox Posted 12 June 2007 Posted 12 June 2007 Personally I'm a Guiness man but having drunk just about everything in my (distant, hardly rememebered) past, ales are a drink you get into after you have done the "been mullered on wife beater, beat the wife and been sick on the dog" phase. It's not as gassy as lager so you can drink more - unless you drink Old Peculiar which only allows you to drink up to 5 and then numbs your entire body.
Alexikokopops Posted 12 June 2007 Posted 12 June 2007 You mean with Carlton? You get quiz questions with Carlton I thought it was with Toohey's? I'll take your word for it, I haven't been to Australia since Christmas 2005. I did enjoy them quiz questions though
Lord Nibblington Posted 12 June 2007 Posted 12 June 2007 I bought four crates of Grolsch last night. I thought you were broke?
Lord Nibblington Posted 12 June 2007 Posted 12 June 2007 I am. Just checking. You opening up some kind of bootlegging operation? Or are you just consuming them all.
The People's Hero Posted 12 June 2007 Posted 12 June 2007 It's gone by my turn to by beers loads of times. My excuse is always they don't fit in my car (true). Went with my housemate last night so treated the lads. Besides it's a big money saver on going out.
Lord Nibblington Posted 12 June 2007 Posted 12 June 2007 Hmm. Good thinking. I do have to say, it's been so long since i've been Stonewards that I've forgotten how stupidly expensive it is. I expect a nasty suprise when I come back next month. Yay!

Thracian was throwing it out but it seemed such a waste. You think you've seen a pedestal with an injured left back at it's base before? Think again.
