samingram_uk Posted 24 June 2007 Posted 24 June 2007 Ricky Hatton showed America what all the fuss is about with a stunning fourth-round knockout of Jose Luis Castillo at the Thomas and Mack Center, Las Vegas.Hatton had failed to find his best form during points victories against Luis Collazo and Juan Urango in his last two outings - also both in Las Vegas - and needed to produce something special to win over his growing band of Stateside sceptics. He delivered in some style, dominating Castillo throughout a contest that ended abruptly after two minutes and 16 seconds of the fourth when a crushing body shot left the Mexican crumpled on the canvas and unable to beat referee Joe Cortez's count. http://www.skysports.com/skysports/article...1271968,00.html Well done 'Hitman'
James. Posted 24 June 2007 Posted 24 June 2007 Isnt he going to be fighting Mayweather soon? Could well be on the cards. Castillo said he got hit be the perfect shot. Absolute monster of a body blow, the guy couldn't breathe.
samingram_uk Posted 24 June 2007 Author Posted 24 June 2007 Isnt he going to be fighting Mayweather soon? The result has opened the door to a possible future fight with Floyd Mayweather Junior, regarded as the pound-for-pound best fighter in the world.Mayweather retired after beating legend Oscar de la Hoya in the richest fight in history last month. But the Manchester 'Hitman' would jump at the chance to coax out him of retirement and took the opportunity of his victory to taunt the former world welterweight champion. From Sky Sports
The Reverend Posted 24 June 2007 Posted 24 June 2007 Ricky Hatton Quality body shot, absolute killer.

Manwell Pablo Posted 24 June 2007 Posted 24 June 2007 Hatton wants Mayweather next. Up on BBC Sport now. I remember Mayweather saying he was retireing in America but he would fight Hatton in England just before he fought Del la hoya. And apparently Oscar has rang Ricky and told him he'd fight him in England as well. Personally I reckon either of them would take Hatton down. Especially Mayweather before he retired I rated him as the best pound for pound boxer in the world.

Hatton is not powrful enough to be great at welterweight and Mayweather can't drop down to light welterweight, if it does go ahead Hatton will not win, he's just a bit too small to take on Mayweather.
The People's Hero Posted 25 June 2007 Posted 25 June 2007 Mayweather is a better fighter than Hatton. I'd like to see it though - it'd be an interesting match up.

Mayweathers last few fights haven't been very good really but I'd agree he is the better fighter, that coupled with his size advantage should tell Hatton to stay clear.
