Says here that he's supposed to be a central midfielder, but has played on the wing a lot. :ermm:

With just 4 goals in 108 games, he's obviously not a goalscoring midfield type.

One of them being against us last season!

I like him to be honest. IIRC he was in my Championship Fantasy League team on here. Not sure he's worth £1million and I don't know whether Palace would want rid at that price or not but he has the physicality we lack in midfield at present. Would be a decent signing IMO.

Tom is a very talented midfielder, who is one of several graduates from the Crystal Palace Academy from recent years and his performances for the Eagles have seen him rated as one of the Championship's most promising players.

Hes a quality player but hardly ever shows it. All palace fans were told he is a central midfielder but he has never really excelled when played there and i reckon he is better on the right wing. Has potential but yu will see it once every 8 games. I think it will cos more than 1M to get him, but we could manage without him.

Sounds like a contradiction to me unless your definition of quality is different to mine, but quality to me is an all round characteristic and requires a player to not only have the ability but able to use it to good effect consistently, you make this guy sound like another Gareth Williams.

1 in 10 surely thats better than our current lot???

His goal rate in the league is 4 in 106 appearances (20 as sub) - 0.03.

Although even that's better than any of our more recent CMs.

He'd have been better off with Ryan Smith for £150,000!

Don't be stupid. I have a lot of respect for you Thrac, but Ryan Smith? Really? He had talent but he wasted it- he's been turfed out of Derby faster than you can say "Piss off". Until he sorts his attitude out I wouldn't touch him with a barge pole.

As for Soares, I think he'd be a useful addition, but at £1 million, he's a little overpriced.

Interesting choice of player this one, I'd heard he'd gone off the boil a bit at Palace and I certainly wouldnt expect him to be our new playmaker, Right wing would seem about right but I could see better ways to spend a million pounds. At least this will shut a few of the 'we havn't spent big yet' brigade up.

seriously?

Yeah, he plays for Palace. The only player i can remember off the top of my head that plays for them is James Scowcroft and he's sh*t. Oh and Peter Taylor is an anus face.

I always thought this lad was a hot prospect at Palace. I haven't seen much of him but I'd still be pleased if this was true.

he'd be a good player to get in but at 1m he's a bit over priced. i'd rather spend a million on a decent striker

Tom Soares is a really good, accomplished winger with a fair amount of pace. I would be really happy if we got him  He played a few seasons back when they were in the premiership. Possibly 1mil is slightly on the expensive for us, But by no means is it exsorsionate.

This is going to be a real interesting season, judging by who we have signed and who we may sign it look's like we are going to have a team full of players with a point to prove in one way or another...be that staying injury free, justifying their price tag or simply forfilling their full potential!...can't wait
