superfox1980 Posted 4 July 2007 Posted 4 July 2007 How much money does MA actually have to spend on new players ?
superfox1980 Posted 4 July 2007 Author Posted 4 July 2007 Nobody but MM, MA and Mackay know. Probably. True ! there was talk of MA having around £4million ?
Guest Posted 4 July 2007 Posted 4 July 2007 £2.78 I read that there was an £8m budget but that is to include wages. Not sure if that means MA has to cover wages over the entire lengh of the contract out of the budget though?? the players we're getting won't be getting much by way of up front payment you wouldnt think so mostly its wages. I reckon there's prob a couple of mil spare to play with??
a-fox Posted 4 July 2007 Posted 4 July 2007 thats probably not far off the mark if you know why ask ?
superfox1980 Posted 4 July 2007 Author Posted 4 July 2007 if you know why ask ? well thats just i dont know ! there has been a lot of diferent amounts banded around

lookwhaticando Posted 4 July 2007 Posted 4 July 2007 Mandaric is investing 4.5m quid into the club this season. How much of that is for transfers, wages, management stuff, etc remains to be seen... not that we'll ever know for sure what has or hasn't been spent. That's that, really.
The Reverend Posted 4 July 2007 Posted 4 July 2007 £10.50 and whatever he can get for Elvis Hammond. So £10.50.
Raj Posted 5 July 2007 Posted 5 July 2007 If the club can sell plenty of new home kits this will be given to MA to spend on players.
Lovejoy Posted 5 July 2007 Posted 5 July 2007 That Iranian said ages ago that we would sell 70million shirts to Iran if we signed Kaebi. Dunno about that but hopefully we'll sell a few
dandannieldanok Posted 5 July 2007 Posted 5 July 2007 A two week old bus ticket, half a can of roller cola, a sticky lollipop found down the back of MM's sofa, a lock of Andy Johnson's pubic hair found in the showers and 34 pence.
Wezleylowski Posted 5 July 2007 Posted 5 July 2007 A two week old bus ticket, half a can of roller cola, a sticky lollipop found down the back of MM's sofa, a lock of Andy Johnson's pubic hair found in the showers and 34 pence. More than last season then, all we had then was one of Steven Hughes mouldy toe nails to bargain with.
MPH Posted 5 July 2007 Posted 5 July 2007 How much money does MA actually have to spend on new players ? not sure anyone really knows but i think part of his contract when taking over the club was to invest a minimum of 4.5m in each of the first two seasons.... That could explain why so many players are only being given 2 year contracts... not really sure.... if you consider how many players we are signing though most of that will probably go in wages....
DB11 Posted 5 July 2007 Posted 5 July 2007 I thought it was £9 million over the 3 years, with the majority going on wages.
Blue Bob Posted 5 July 2007 Posted 5 July 2007 One thing is for sure MM will play his cards close to his chest. He will not let on what he has as other clubs will then demand more for transfers.
Leonisco Posted 5 July 2007 Posted 5 July 2007 I thought it was £9 million over the 3 years, with the majority going on wages. I think that's probably round about right.
dandannieldanok Posted 6 July 2007 Posted 6 July 2007 I thought it was £9 million over the 3 years, with the majority going on wages. I thought it was £9 million over 2 years myself.
Jon the Hat Posted 6 July 2007 Posted 6 July 2007 The amount he is investing in shares is £9m over two years, but as stated on a number of occaisions this amount in no way guarantees or limits any amount to be spent on transfers or wages. It is completely unrelated, and hence meaningless in this context. Milan could invest £9M then lend it to his mum if he wanted to.
Geo V Posted 6 July 2007 Posted 6 July 2007 God knows how much we are laying out on signing on fees for the Bosmans to tempt them here and Im sure that the wage bill be at least double last seasons efforts. A couple of the lads have been purchased too but we did raise £650k for McCarthy so its difficult to work out whats left. I personally think they we have started with freebies and the qulity of our signings are getting progressively better and more expensive either on wages or signing on fees. We were in for Saganowski which would have cost £700k and are now rumoured to be going for two Yeovil players who apparently Forest are going to sign. McLeod is another we are linked to so I fully expect a couple of our next signings to actually use up our planned budget.
