Daggers Posted 12 July 2007 Author Posted 12 July 2007 Oh... If anyone cites anything by Hall and Oates - I will twat them.
Nationwider Posted 12 July 2007 Posted 12 July 2007 This is an unashamedly twee selection, but I'm shallow, and I like them: The Smiths - There Is A Light That Never Goes Out Frankie Goes To Hollywood - The Power Of Love The Lightning Seeds - Pure
Nationwider Posted 12 July 2007 Posted 12 July 2007 Anything by Hall and Oates. I must admit, I was tempted by the offer too.... ...but I'm promised to another tonight.
lildave3 Posted 12 July 2007 Posted 12 July 2007 I must admit, I was tempted by the offer too.......but I'm promised to another tonight. The funny thing is, I have no idea who Hall and Oates are
Nationwider Posted 12 July 2007 Posted 12 July 2007 The funny thing is, I have no idea who Hall and Oates are I think you're better off keeping things that way.
AoWW Posted 13 July 2007 Posted 13 July 2007 All my love - Led Zeppelin Love song - The Cure Loving you - Mckay (is 'loving' rather than 'love' allowed? - if not I'll go with Big Love - Fleetwood Mac)
Finnegan Posted 13 July 2007 Posted 13 July 2007 Gutted at the lack of contrived, obvious cheese in this thread. Where's the Don't Want To Miss A Thing, Romeo and Juliet, I Would Do Anything For Love lot? Heh? Bunch of clap-trap anyhouses. They've all got the same lyrics, just different round about ways of saying "yeah, yeah, I'm sensitive - now put my nob in ya' gob. Right? Love's meant to be about honesty, innit? This is an honest song. All about lovin'. Go!
The People's Hero Posted 13 July 2007 Posted 13 July 2007 Sadly, having read the above (quite accurate) posterage of our (Mr) Finners, I have to comeforth (as it were) and admit my liking for Dire Straits - R & J and any Meat Loaf love song. My favourites though are Hefner - Half a Life, Hefner - From Your Head To Your Toes or Bob Dylan - Make You Feel My Love. Erm... how about Radiohead - Thinking About You ... does that count? I love that track.
Fez of Mahrez Posted 13 July 2007 Posted 13 July 2007 Art Brut - Emily Kane Underworld - Moaner Wolfmother - Woman
The People's Hero Posted 13 July 2007 Posted 13 July 2007 Art Brut - Emily KaneUnderworld - Moaner Wolfmother - Woman Must check out these Art Brut folks. Sorry about the missed call last night Fez - was out and it was noisy.
Fez of Mahrez Posted 13 July 2007 Posted 13 July 2007 Must check out these Art Brut folks.Sorry about the missed call last night Fez - was out and it was noisy. Not to worry sir. Just arrive at mine sometime on Saturday afternoon. Sorted.
Flynny Posted 13 July 2007 Posted 13 July 2007 Erm... how about Radiohead - Thinking About You ... does that count? I love that track. Art Brut - Emily Kane Good'uns. I've always thought Muse's Falling Away With You was pretty great. Beats turds like Invincible any day.
Finnegan Posted 13 July 2007 Posted 13 July 2007 In all seriousness, If You See Her Say Hello deserves a mention. Gutwrenching though.
Lillehamring Posted 13 July 2007 Posted 13 July 2007 don't talk put your head on my shoulder - beach boys (mah, the whole of pet sounds...) we've only just begun - the carpenters wichita lineman - glen campbell... honest, i'm not gay...
Kent Fox Posted 13 July 2007 Posted 13 July 2007 Everyday I love you less and less - Kaiser Chiefs I never loved Eva Braun - Boomtown Rats Too drunk to f**k - Dead Kennedys Makes a woman feel wanted
AoWW Posted 13 July 2007 Posted 13 July 2007 Everyday I love you less and less - Kaiser ChiefsI never loved Eva Braun - Boomtown Rats Too drunk to f**k - Dead Kennedys Makes a woman feel wanted *swoon* Sure swept me off my feet.
Kent Fox Posted 13 July 2007 Posted 13 July 2007 *swoon* Sure swept me off my feet. See? Never fails You can't beat the classics,eh? How was your concert? Mine was quite good once I'd demolished a bottle and a half of vino.
AoWW Posted 13 July 2007 Posted 13 July 2007 How was your concert? Mine was quite good once I'd demolished a bottle and a half of vino. Erm, good and bad in equal amounts, really. Good in the sense that it was nice weather-wise, and a great venue - right in the middle of Thetford Forest. Very mellow... decent bar too! (Would love to see someone decent playing there next year... Arctic Monkeys in the forest gets my vote - though somehow I can't quite see it happening!) Bad in the sense that it was The Feeling who were playing. I only went because I got offered free tickets, to be fair, so it seems kinda ungrateful to complain... ...thought they were hideously middle-of-the-road and cringe-worthy, to be honest! Ghosts were suporting them - they were decent enough, which kinda made the whole evening worthwhile.

I thought the Feeling's album wasn't half bad. And Ghosts could / might be big. Good debut album.
General Smuts Posted 13 July 2007 Posted 13 July 2007 L.O.V.E - Ashlee Simpson Love Is All Around - Wet Wet Wet Love Me Do - The Beatles NB: This is a joke i am not a raving homosexual. At least thats what my boyfriend Juan Carlo says with his cock in my arse.
Leonisco Posted 13 July 2007 Posted 13 July 2007 Rainy Night In Soho by The Pogues is a good one, and sorry Finners, but Don't Want To Miss A Thing has got to be up there among the best. However, the ultimate love song for me has to be Sunshine On Leith by The Proclaimers. Almost made me cry the first time I heard it, and sounds absolutely awesome when Hibs fans sing it at games - particularly I've always thought Muse's Falling Away With You was pretty great. Beats turds like Invincible any day. Sacrilege!
Finnegan Posted 13 July 2007 Posted 13 July 2007 For sighting Rainy Night In Soho AND the Hibees singing the BEAUTIFUL Sunshine on Leith, I shall forgive you your sins.
