Stuliasz Posted 14 July 2007 Posted 14 July 2007 Micky Adams is pleased to announce that Micky Adams is accepting the role as assistant manager at Colchester. Thanks...signed Micky Adams. BBC Sport
Jay Posted 14 July 2007 Posted 14 July 2007 Talk about desperation!! can only think he feels Williams will get the boot after selling some of his best players and he can have his job in a few months!!
Cheese Me Posted 14 July 2007 Posted 14 July 2007 Shame. He deserves better. He did OK (especially when you compare him to what followed) for us in very difficult circumstances and was harshly treated at the end. He definitely deserves to be managing in the championship, not being an assistant.
Brainy Posted 14 July 2007 Posted 14 July 2007 Goodluck to him. Thought he'd hang around for a job in management.
Blue Bob Posted 14 July 2007 Posted 14 July 2007 I have nothing against the bloke but I feel that he was out of his depth. I am not suprised he has been looked over for so many management jobs, but I am pleased for him that he has landed himself a job. Its going to be a tough season for Colchester so he will have his work cut out.

Smudge Posted 14 July 2007 Posted 14 July 2007 Strange. Certainly is, the use of dentures would definitely have enhanced his interview image.
Lets Be having You Posted 14 July 2007 Posted 14 July 2007 he has been found out for what he was 3rd div manager
Stevosevic Posted 15 July 2007 Posted 15 July 2007 Quite sad, hes a top bloke and did a decent job for us, was hoping he would get another job in the lower leagues. Sure he will in the future.
Simon Posted 15 July 2007 Posted 15 July 2007 Talk about desperation!!can only think he feels Williams will get the boot after selling some of his best players and he can have his job in a few months!! Thats exactly what crossed my mind...
Maybes Posted 16 July 2007 Posted 16 July 2007 Quite sad, hes a top bloke and did a decent job for us, was hoping he would get another job in the lower leagues. Sure he will in the future. Im sure he will. Just remember to keep the faith micky . He's just gone their to enjoy the role of being at a football club with a lot less pressure.
NFFC Chris Posted 16 July 2007 Posted 16 July 2007 Don't think Williams will be getting the chop any time soon so a very strange move by Adams!
dandannieldanok Posted 17 July 2007 Posted 17 July 2007 Don't think Williams will be getting the chop any time soon so a very strange move by Adams! I wouldn't be too sure, just look at what happened with us and Rob Kelly, he had a brillinat start as our manager then things turned sour, plus Colchester are fast losing their most effective and dangerous players.
Master Fox Posted 17 July 2007 Posted 17 July 2007 Once compared to the great Martin O’Neil by fans and journalists. He was even described as ‘The Second Coming’ in the Daily Mail. What a great shame. If you listen carefully you can still hear the odd chant of ‘Mickey Adams Blue & White Army’ at the walkers.
Wils Posted 17 July 2007 Posted 17 July 2007 He wont be able to do any interviews though and talk about how Mickey Adams thought the game went etc.
SamL Posted 17 July 2007 Posted 17 July 2007 Good luck to him in his new job. I think that he did quite a good job here but im not sure about what others think? Micky Adams
Blue Bob Posted 17 July 2007 Posted 17 July 2007 Don't think Williams will be getting the chop any time soon so a very strange move by Adams! He might just be desperate for a job, he has been passed over by loads of clubs recently so was probably pleased to get anything. So was his wife!!!
