AoWW Posted 27 July 2007 Posted 27 July 2007 do you have conversations with them absolutely - all the time!
Zingari Posted 27 July 2007 Posted 27 July 2007 absolutely - all the time! as an experiment, record yourself in conversation with your cat and fill in what you think the cat is saying ; then could you transcribe it on here ? it would be very interesting
AoWW Posted 27 July 2007 Posted 27 July 2007 as an experiment, record yourself in conversation with your cat and fill in what you think the cat is saying ; then could you transcribe it on here ? it would be very interesting sure, nothing like a bit of public humiliation!
Steven Posted 27 July 2007 Posted 27 July 2007 I've believed for years that domestic dogs in particular can smell when things are amiss in humans, some more so than others.Certainly my old German Shepherd could do it and always used to become uncharactistically "around" when someone was poorly. But she was an exceptional tracker and clearly had an outstanding sense of smell. It's probably what sometimes enables dogs to sense evil in people as well. Something about their smell. Dogs - and presumably cats too - can give out so many warnings in different ways, if only people would learn to take notice. I remember reading about a former jockey who thought horses had similar instrincts. He rode horse that used to hit every hurdle when he rode it normally. Once the jockey had broken ribs and was down to ride this horse and instead of the horse hitting every hurdle, it did not touch a twig. I do think animals have ways of detecting things that we have long forgotten about or lost.
Zingari Posted 27 July 2007 Posted 27 July 2007 sure, nothing like a bit of public humiliation! do you mean that you are not quite so sure that the conversation really is a two way thing or is it the content of your conversation that would be embarrassing
Phube Posted 27 July 2007 Posted 27 July 2007 Dogs can detect bladder cancer in patient's urine, well before scientists!! Dogs are cool!!!
Daggers Posted 28 July 2007 Posted 28 July 2007 Dogs - and presumably cats too - can give out so many warnings in different ways, if only people would learn to take notice. Is that where you get your opinions about Porter, Dodds, Fryatt and Hammond from?
Daggers Posted 28 July 2007 Posted 28 July 2007 Ha! Proof (if ever were needed) that cats are dumb and can not spell properly. Stupid cats.
