Daggers Posted 30 July 2007 Posted 30 July 2007 New Cardiff goalkeeper Ross Turnbull says he was undaunted after watching their woeful defending from the stands in the 6-4 friendly loss at Stockport."It was only a friendly, we'll look to pick up before the season starts," said Turnbull, who completed a 12-month loan switch from Middlesbrough on Friday. Looks like some people don't take friendlies as seriously as you Thracian Cardiff City: D Forde (M Oakes 45), K McNaughton (C Gunter 45), T Capaldi, D Purse (capt), G Loovens, G Rae, S McPhail, S MacLean, W Feeney (M Green 64), J Ledley (P Whittingham 55), T Sinclair (P Parry 45). Subs: P Whittingham, K Cooper, J Byrne, A Ramsey, R Johnson, D Blake.
Stevosevic Posted 30 July 2007 Posted 30 July 2007 Also... Weymouth 3-0 Cardiff. But i'm not ruling them out yet.
Micky Ruddle Posted 30 July 2007 Posted 30 July 2007 They certainly won't get promoted this year. They may have a good start, but that's about it really for Cardiff.
Brainy Posted 30 July 2007 Posted 30 July 2007 Also... Weymouth 3-0 Cardiff. But i'm not ruling them out yet. I am. It's always funny to see Burnley having a good start and their fans dreaming of promotion. Never quite works out does it.
Manwell Pablo Posted 30 July 2007 Posted 30 July 2007 They're friendlies they mean the grand sum of jack shit.
Blue Bob Posted 30 July 2007 Posted 30 July 2007 They're friendlies they mean the grand sum of jack shit. I am glad this is true, seeing as we have just lost one!!!
Daggers Posted 30 July 2007 Author Posted 30 July 2007 They're friendlies they mean the grand sum of jack shit. They were a pretty good indicator of Leeds fortunes last season
Simi Posted 30 July 2007 Posted 30 July 2007 I am.It's always funny to see Burnley having a good start and their fans dreaming of promotion. Never quite works out does it. Some Burnley fans actually think they're dead certs to go up.
Cat Burger Posted 30 July 2007 Posted 30 July 2007 Some Burnley fans actually think they're dead certs to go up. So do some Leicester fans.
Brainy Posted 30 July 2007 Posted 30 July 2007 Going around some Championship fansites - Cardiff and Burnley fans are the worst.
MC Prussian Posted 30 July 2007 Posted 30 July 2007 So do some Leicester fans. Indeed. I preach a little more modesty.

With money behind us now we will do well this year. Had a promising Pre-Season even if they are only friendlys the team is looking great with Berisha and Blake a new look Ade and Andy Gray...young prospect Kyle lafferty who has already had bids rejected from Celtic. __________________ "You heard the traditions of Burnley's past out there today. Stephen Clemence chose us over other championship clubs including Saints and Wolves , DJ Campbell chose us over Watford and PNE. Hossein Kaebi chose us over 4 premiership clubs and we got some experience in Bruno N'Gotty. the others are probably just squad members. good luck to you next season but saying you can beat any team kind of covers all bases as the championship is such a hard league anybody can beat anybody you're correct. Big Signing Besart Berisha , massive signing ....type in his name on youtube and see his goal and skills against england earlier this year. I'm not saying we will win the league, but I would say this could well be our season. I've already proved my point about LCFC on many occasions on here. Over the last few years there has been NO difference in Burnley and Leicester. ok local businessman who is an unknown i guess vs Milan Mandaric who brought soccer to the states in the 70's, got georgie best to play for him!! he also took pompey from lower reaches of div 1 to premiership safety and is aiming to do the same with us in an apparent 3 yrs but the way he is going he wants it this season. never heart of this Besart Berisha but i reckon if you typed Matty Fryatt or Iain Hume on YouTube you would see some stunning goals by them pair, its what youtube was made for. it wont show up there poor positioning or the time they just stood around for 70minutes the time they had an off game. it may be your season but its been reported today bookies nationwide are running scared after a large influx of bets has been put on leicester for promotion and theyve all slashed the odds from 16-1 to 10-1 and as little as 8-1. i also agree Burnley have had the better over Leicester since we last got relegated from the prem but we've had 3 poor seasons. im not saying Burnley will be relegation fodder but i think midtable comfort for your lot.
Geo V Posted 30 July 2007 Posted 30 July 2007 Cardiff were OK two seasons ago when Koumas was on loan and then last season they over-achieved but now are without Chopra. This is the type of team which we should be trying to better because individually, apart from a few players like Ledley and Purse, they aren't all that IMO!
Daggers Posted 3 August 2007 Author Posted 3 August 2007 Jones said: "Robbie will play for as long as he possibly can as he needs to get match-fit."Fowler is still someway short of full-fitness having joined up with Cardiff City mid-way through their pre-season training. Yup - we really missed out
Brainy Posted 4 August 2007 Posted 4 August 2007 Hull fan on teletext yesterday saying they're certs for the play-offs with their great new signings.
SystonFox Posted 4 August 2007 Posted 4 August 2007 Dean Windass? he may bag a few goals here and there but i dont know who they have signed or who they are going to sign. Hull will be safe but not top half. idiots.
Simi Posted 4 August 2007 Posted 4 August 2007 Hull fan on teletext yesterday saying they're certs for the play-offs with their great new signings. You should read comments from QPR fans.

Daggers Posted 4 August 2007 Author Posted 4 August 2007 Fowler injury scare hits Cardiff Robbie Fowler could be a doubt for Cardiff's season opener against Stoke in seven days after limping out of his debut on Saturday with a thigh strain. The former Liverpool striker looked bright and eager in the 1-0 win over FC Twente but limped off after 25 minutes. Bluebirds manager Dave Jones was counting on Fowler, 32, having a longer run-out against the Dutch Eredivisie outfit to improve his match fitness. But now Cardiff must wait nervously to see how serious Fowler's knock is ahead of their Championship opener at home next Saturday. Ho ho. Ho ho ho. Ho. *remembers telling FoxesTalk that he would be crap & injured* </smug>
Kirky Posted 5 August 2007 Posted 5 August 2007 Ho ho.Ho ho ho. Ho. *remembers telling FoxesTalk that he would be crap & injured* </smug> even i expected him to last longer into the season before pickin up an injury..what a shame..
Brainy Posted 6 August 2007 Posted 6 August 2007 "Leeds will win this league easy even though we have a 15 point deduction. Our squad is too good"
Geo V Posted 6 August 2007 Posted 6 August 2007 Time for Rafa to re-sign him again as he is getting homesick BTW, is it me or is anyone spotting some of our so called transfer targets getting injured ? Fowler, Matty Holland and now John Terry.
